MY MESSAGE (FOR THIS MESS-AGE) is taken from Isaiah 34, a most powerful eschatological writing: “Draw near, O nations, to hear, and to hearken, O peoples! Let the earth listen, and all that fills it; the world, and all that comes from it” (v. 1, RSV). Here Yahweh, sword in hand (v. 6), is wreaking vengeance on Edom (symbol of those who hate God’s people/who hate God, the final intervention of Yahweh God to deal with the implacable opponents of His righteous purpose. The language is very descriptive and vivid to convey the conviction that the righteous will of God must ultimately prevail on the earth!
In the final END, this will be accomplished. But in-between this time and then, we must fight the good fight of faith, STANDING OUT AND STANDING UP FOR OUR GOD.
The Clash
THE FINAL CLASH between good and evil, between God—the LORD of history, and the evil forces which defy Him (demons and demon-inspired men), must be RESOLVED in the end.
I personally do not believe the END is here, but I know that the end of many is near—God’s WRATH, FURY, and INDIGNATION are about to be poured more upon America (and the world), unless full repentance is made.
What we have seen is bad enough. What He intends to do, if men do not repent, will be AWFUL. An account must be settled.
Of course, Isaiah’s prophecy was near, and for the future. His prophecy inevitably draws on mythological imagery as he portrays the Last Judgment on a cosmic scale. Edom is specified in vss. 5 and 6 as the “immediate” (near) object of Yahweh’s WRATH; this suggests that Isaiah is expressing the longstanding antipathy between Israel and Edom (see the story of Jacob/Esau where the story reaches its intensity after the Edomites had sought to profit thru Judah’s destruction by the Babylonians [see Oba. 10-12]). In vss. 15 and 16, the judgment on Edom is again only a particular man; fast action of “the day of Yahweh (which) is near upon all the nations,” and Edom is thus a representative of the enmity to Judah, and to her religion, which to the Jews was the same thing as enmity against God.
What God prophesied and DID! to Edom was a picture of what is to come upon the world…some day.
LORD’S Vengeance
ISAIAH 34, verse 8 speaks of the “day of the LORD’S Vengeance, and the year of recompenses for the controversy of Zion,” or, “when accounts are settled.”
Be WARNED, dear America, your SINS have mounted up to heaven, therefore: “THE SWORD OF THE LORD” WILL TURN UPON YOU TO EXTERMINATE IN A MOST FRIGHTFUL, TERRIFYING SACRIFICE OF APPEASEMENT (see vss 5-7).
Your (backslidden) church and State will feel perpetual desolation when God’s WRATH is FORCIBLY conveyed upon you. Your abortion, your sodomy, your (military) murder, your hatred for His Word/Will/Way, your mockery for His authority…you will pay, just as other nations have already paid (vss. 1, 2).
Fury of Battle (vss. 2-4)
WE ARE YET to see the FULL FURY of the LORD’S indignation. Unless we repent, we shall witness it.
Just as Joshua (6:17, 21) went against Jericho at the LORD’S command, and utterly destroyed it, here, Isaiah’s “prophetic perfect” tenses express a future which is CERTAIN: earthly carnage, and the heavens also with the stars which men worshiped (and still do!) as gods, will be shattered by God in an unearthly combat (see also 24:21 which it states that “…the LORD shall punish the host of the high ones that are on high, and the kings of the earth upon the earth” (KJV). The RSV reads: “on that day, the Lord will punish the host of Heaven, in Heaven, and the kings of the earth, on the earth;” “in the height,” “the north pole or zenith of the ecliptic…, the abode of Deity.” (You might want to read 2 Kgs. 17:16).
Dunged with Rotten Death!
ARE WE READY FOR THIS? Verse 3 reads: “Their slain also shall be cast out, and their stink shall come up out of their carcasses, and the mountains shall be melted with their blood;” the STENCH of the dead clinging to the very soil!
People of My Curse!
VERSE 5 READS: “For My Word shall be bathed in Heaven (His “Word” is His “sword”): behold, it shall come down upon Idumea, and upon the people of My curse, to judgment.” The “people of My curse,” are the ones that God has DOOMED (RSV).
The “Sword of the LORD” (v. 6) appears in 27:1, where it is used in conflict with His supreme enemy in a myth of origins which has become a myth of the end. “Sacrifice” and “slaughter” are correlative/synonymous terms.
Isaiah’s “near” prophecy came to pass; the Great Day of the LORD hangs over the world like a dark cloud.
Edom, together with the rest of the neighboring nations, were ravaged and laid WASTE by Nebuchadnezzar (see Jer. 25:15-26; Mal. 1:3, 4 etc.).
Most Bible scholars and learned expositors suppose (as I do also), that this prophecy (Isa. 34) has a farther view to events still future…the Scriptures warrant us to expect.
Celebrate!
WHILE AMERICA is celebrating its victories for the sodomite camp LGBTQ+, mocking God’s eternal law, “God is now in the process of preparing His celebration for His judgment upon the sodomites et al. His sacrifice (34:6)=Jehovah’s celebration (see also Ezek. 34:16, 17).
God has set forth all the great leaders (emblems of goats, bulls, rams, fatlings etc.) to attend this celebration. He has summoned the fowls of the air, and all the beasts of the field…bidding them to the “CELEBRATION FEAST” which He has prepared for them when the SLAUGHTER starts (see also Rev. 19:17, 18).
All this imagery may confuse most, but it all has meaning. Let us read, believe, repent, and be spared when God unleashes His TERROR upon the prideful, rebellious, and hateful masses.
Let us not be fearful, but let us be faithful for the day of His indignation will soon visit a city/a town near you.
It is time to “Stand Out & Stand Up” for Jesus.
