“We are what we eat.” How many have heard this? I don’t know when this was said or who said it, but there is some truth to it. Stop & consider the meaningless prattle people listen to every day – we can eat with our ears as well as with our mouths. The world is at the trough of demons eating “demon food” 24/7/365 non-stop. Not every soul eats non-stop but collectively the world never stops eating “demon food”. Even “Christians” have found their place at the table of Satan. While they/we should be eating at the Lord’s table, too many listen to and consume rubbish of the world… being more HUNGRY for the world’s food rather than the Kingdom’s food. Stuffing, surfeiting, sipping the wine glass, hence, NO APPETITE for the True Bread of Christ.
John chapter 6 speaks of both literal and figurative bread. Jesus says “… you ate of the loaves & were filled,” 6:26, he compares natural bread with spiritual bread, vs.27. Jesus goes on to talk about the True Bread from Heaven, vss.32,33. Then He drops the Bombshell: “I Am the Bread of Life. He who comes to Me shall never hunger…”, vs.35. Again, in vs.48 Jesus proclaims,“I Am the Bread of Life.”
Again, in vss.50,51, He says that He IS the Living Bread. He drops another bombshell: “For My Flesh is FOOD indeed, and My Blood is DRINK indeed,” -vs.55.
Did the Jews Eat?
Some did; most did not! The nation of Israel (Judah) were the offspring of the O.T. Jews that called the table of the LORD contemptible (Mal. 1:7), i.e., to be despised! Verse 7 says, “Ye offer polluted bread upon mine altar; & ye say ‘wherein have we polluted thee?.’” The LORD answers, “In that ye say, ‘the table of the LORD is contemptible.’”
The priests of the LORD gave service, gave up service, but in their hearts, they despised God’s service. Are you listening? Are we or have we ever been guilty of this? I don’t think all God’s priests then nor today feel this way. But the growing number that would rather eat off the devil’s table or offer polluted sacrifices to God IS GROWING! I heard a popular, T.V. pastor say, “I don’t care what the Bible says, I believe…!”
Today’s liberal/PC/Woke Church can’t wait to either lower or destroy moral standards.
God’s priests (O.T.) did not actually say out loud, “The table of the LORD is contemptible!” (KJV/NKJV). Some Bible scholars debate this. The RSV renders more idiomatically thinking. The Hebrew word “say”, not infrequently has the sense “say to oneself”. Our attitude (inwardly) speaks in various ways. The LORD was not pleased with some of His priests; they were bringing food (a shadow/type of Christ that was to come) of inferior quality to God’s altar. Jesus, the True Bread, was not going to be inferior, He was to be the perfect Bread/perfect Lamb sacrificed… for men’s sins to be forgiven & for spiritual health & growth.
As the rest of the chapter (Malachi 1) makes evident, the word “polluted” is simply a very strong expression for “blemished”, “imperfect”.
God’s charge leveled at a morally degenerate priesthood then speaks to us today as well. Do we actually believe God is pleased with today’s prosperity perverts, LGBTQ+ ministers? Do you believe He goes along with their lowering moral/ethical standards of inward & outward conduct? One minister once said, “sin is sin only if you think it is sin!” Yep! This mentality is among us today especially in the LGBTQ church.
The O.T. priests were offering the blind for sacrifice, the lame, the sick. Ancient law, of which the priests were chief guardians (2:7), required that only animals which were perfect in every particular should be offered as sacrificial victims (Dt. 15:21), but there would be a tendency, especially with increasing sophistication & in different times, to feel that less valuable animals might just as well be substituted. This subverted the whole principle of sacrifice, which in its purest form meant the offering to God of something as valuable as possible, to be a symbol of the offeror’s willing consecration of himself.
How many “ministers” offer lame sacrifices unto God… offer polluted Bread?
Verse 12 uses the word “profaned”: “But ye have profaned it (God’s Name), in that ye say, ‘The table of the LORD is polluted; and the fruit thereof, even his meat, is contemptible.’” (vs.12). Malachi 1:11 says that God’s name will be (future) great among the Gentiles, i.e., the pagan nations; but vs.12 the prophet’s purpose is not to praise the heathen but to shame the rebellious Jews. The Gentiles by their carefulness & munificence are honoring God.
“Christian” Junk Food
While the “lost” are in need of Jesus – the True Bread of Life, the Church offers them Christian Junk Food! While it is true that the Church as a whole is going the way of the world, little-by-little, there still remains those who are true to God… who still offer the WAY of eternal salvation (repentance must be presented, not “join our church” stuff). The “seeker friendly” movement has drained the life out of the Church. The “come as you are (sinner), stay as you are” (no repentance needed) offers the seekers Christian Junk Food… thinking this will make them holy & happy & healthy. Yeah! How has this worked out?? It may make the lost seekers happy, but not holy. It may add just another number to the Church rolls but in God’s sight, without heart repentance, the seeker is merely a “happy hellister”.
Sweet Deceit
Go to a bakery, take a good look at all the nice & appetizing things under glass… but 99% are junk foods, lots of empty calories, too much sugar & sweet goop – beautiful to behold but certainly not healthy. Oh, they (the “sweeties”) look good but there’s nothing to make the body healthy. This is exactly the way the world operates – one can eat with the eyes, the ears, & of course with the natural mouth. We look at sinful things… we hear sinful things… our lusts get stimulated (just like our mouth waters when we see all those “sweeties” under glass – got to have some! Ah, yum, savory, delicious… later in life health problems arise. Syrupy sweet LIES also causes health problems. To tell the Church-ite that God loves them no matter how in the HELL they live will cause BIG health problems (spiritually).
Just surf the net, appetizing things all over the place. Nakedness, murder, theft, con games, you name it, it is up on the net. There may be something we’ve searched for (as I often do in my studies), but one has to wade through a minefield to get there. The thought runs thru the mind, “sneak-a-peek!” etc., etc. This is how millions get HOOKED. Even believers get HOOKED, easily persuaded to betray God by eating with the eyes, ears, mind, heart! If you eat filthy garbage, you become filthy!
I’ve dealt with many (mostly men) who just took a peek at porn – hence, addicted! Just about every woman one sees on the net has her breasts exposed. This has become a plague – a real problem to all of us who try to keep our eyes, minds, & hearts stayed upon the Lord Jesus. Even some churches allow the women to dress so. Believe it or not, there are a few nude churches around – I’ve written about this in years gone by. Adultery, fornication, incest, all the LGBTQ perversions are today presented as “no big deal” – “we have to change with the times”. Yeah, right!
Surfeiting
This word is found (only) in Luke 21:34, the Greek word kraipalē, means “a debauch” (a glut): “And take heed to yourselves, lest at any time your heartsovercharged with surfeiting, & drunkenness, & cares of this life, & so that day come upon you unawares.”
While Luke does not deal with natural food/drink, he does go deeper – the heart. Can our heart be overcharged with GLUT? Sure! Just as people have heart problems in the natural, so too can the Christian have spiritual heart problems.
Drunkenness is mentioned in both testaments. The O.T. prophets dealt with “the drunkards of Ephraim” (Isa. 28:1 et al.). Many studies could be presented along these lines, overeating/drunkenness etc. One can be a glutton/drunkard without natural food or drink. Luke warns his readers against over eating / over drinking in the spirit realm.
The KJV/NKJV tells us to “take heed to ourselves”; the TCNT has, “Be on your guard”; the Basic English has, “give attention to yourselves”; look up other versions also. They all tell us that our hearts can be “overcharged”, “overpowered”, “loaded down”, “ever be dulled” etc…. with surfeiting, & drunkenness, & cares of this life.” I dare say, here in America at the present time, this verse rings so true! Other versions use words such as “with dissipation”, “self-indulgence”, “with revelry”, “by debaucheries or drunkenness or the anxieties of life”.
Anxieties? Yep. Lots and lots of anxieties today. How can we pay the rent? How can we put food on the table? How can we afford to LIVE??? Prices are out of control. We Christians face the same demons as do those in the world. We are in the midst of a cosmic/economic disturbance. We, as a nation, face hostility daily, in politics esp., causing one to be ANXIOUS, hence, too often leading to overeating (literally) drinking & drug usage. We Americans, Christian or pagan, are EXPENDABLE! We are mere statistics in a kaleidoscopic scene. Perils, tribulations, plain ol’ nausea… we rock & reel under the demonic covering. Homelessness, immorality of every kind, lethal drug overdosing, crime out-of-control. You name it, it is true in “Christian” America. Multiply everything… it/they occupy the space. We, as most other nations of the world, are a “divided” nation, an “abomination”, “a nation in perplexity”, with “the roaring of the sea (peoples) & the waves (confusion/delusion) mounting up.”
While many are literally starving to death, others are dying of overeating! Sins & transgressions against God’s Standards = demonic behaviors. The preachers (real ones) warn the people, but the people would rather die than change. Preachers are assaulted, even murdered, but the vanity, the insanity of humanity goes on day-after-day. The cycle of life & death never ends. Many would rather DIE than face their accountability and responsibility. How many Americans die every year of heart attacks? Both young and old.
Watchfulness
While the Bible instructs us to “watch” & “pray”, the Satanic bible does the opposite. Luke’s warning & instruction was that the judgments of God were coming – be prepared! While the world is in a state of drunkenness & gluttony, God’s judgments are upon us! Just the weather alone spells – “WRATH of GOD!” We’re instructed to take HEED – pay attention to – so as not to be caught off guard, rendered helpless by the overindulgence of food/drink (both literally & figuratively.)
Luke tells his readers/listeners to “take heed to yourselves,” vs.34, “watch ye therefore,” vs.36.
Are We Watching & Praying?
While the world puts on their masquerades in front of others, most are “miserable as hell!” They are hopeless and helpless. You who watch the daily world news know this. Whole nations are suffering all kinds of tribulations – naturally & mentally… incredibly hopeless & growing more so by the day. While many wear the mask of “happiness”, yet they are very sad, lonely, & depressed inside. Take the “Gay” movement. They put on a good (rainbow) show, most are “Sad”. They live in a drama trauma day in & day out. They are not “gay”. In secret they cry, beg, contemplate suicide – some literally killing themselves.
Jesus still cares! Yes! He still wants his creation to be saved… from the damnation of hell! Jesus’ true ones also care. We here do. People have asked, “Why do you always write/preach on negative things? “Would you prefer me to be like, say, Joel Osteen who puts on the Big Show with his Big phony smile… “Have your best life now,” suggesting that we live it up, suck it up, do whatever makes you feel good.” Yeah! He says there is enough negativity in the world, so he need not put forth anything that might disturb one’s happiness. Well, Jesus nor any of His disciples ever did this. Preaching against sin will not invite the $$ in!
The modern Church is full of actors, clowns putting on BIG RELIGIOUS SHOWS – Church-ites eat it up! They PAY to PLAY in Church la la Land. Food – Fun – Fellowship! … their hearts overcharged with surfeiting, & drunkenness. They would rather play than pray. Is it any wonder that our nation has become an abomination?

Take heed to Rom. 13:13,14: “Let us walk properly (literally, decently), as in the day, not in revelry & drunkenness, not in lewdness & lust, not in strife & envy. But put on the Lord Jesus Christ, & make no provision for the flesh, to fulfill its lust.” – NKJV
Pay attention to Ps. 73:7 “Their eyes bulge with abundance; They have more than heart could wish.”
“Their eyes stand out with fatness: They have more than heart could wish.” – KJV
Ps. 73:7 in Chaldee in essence says By fatness, or corpulency, the natural lines of the face are changed, or rather obliterated… we see little remaining besides the human hog! We all know gluttony causes fatness. Look at the average American. Junk foods esp. causes “fatness”. Americans eat from morning till night & all through the night.
When we did a lot of fasting back in the day, the media ran articles on us as a group, nasty & condemning articles were printed in many newspapers – all because we fasted & prayed for the nations of the world. We did LONG fasts (water only) many times. We saw God do many miracles too! Some media outlets claimed we made our children go on fasts also. This was a lie of course.
Ps. 73:7 portrays the person that indulges in the things of the world till they are stuffed to the hilt! (literally speaking). Vss.3-6 tells us who these people are – the foolish, the wicked, the prideful, the violent. These kinds of people are all about us today… their hearts wicked, overflowing with follies, full of malice (vss.8-9). This Psalm is not only an evaluation of the moral revulsion of an ancient people in an ancient time, it IS a picture of today’s world – more so! We can’t miss the composite portrait come to life & exhibit itself in real time… those qualities of yesteryears could be dramatized into the ill-tempered egotist, the hoggish glutton, the malicious slanderer, the BIG BAD BRAGGART, we would have a best-seller movie. We allow the poet, the movie maker, the actors the license to be as vile as can be. But, sadly, today’s people are not poets, actors on set, no sir, they are real living examples of a people with no respect for what is clean & pure. Fat & bloated (lit. & fig.), these folks are found in all realms of American life. Yes, even in Church… behind pulpits. “Greedy dogs” the prophet Isaiah calls them (Isa. 56:10,11), speaking of God’s watchmen – read these 2 verses, see if the comparison is not correct, yesterday’s leadership to today’s leadership). Verse 12, “Come ye, say they, I will fetch wine, and we will fill ourselves with strong drink; & tomorrow shall be as this day, & much more abundant.” One can be “drunk” on the things of the world as one is “drunk” with actual wine/strong drink. Food drunkards! Stuff-and-things drunkards! Self-importance drunkards! You get the point?
Isaiah’s rebuke was right on. the leaders in his day were blind, dumb, indolent, insatiable in their GREED, UTTERLY SELF-CENTERED, & completely heedless of the people’s needs. Sounds like Isaiah is describing today’s Mega Church leadership, T.V. personalities who BEG continually for $$ – never have enough! We have whole Church organizations & denominations whereby the apostate people are children of a religious SORCERESS, offspring of an adulteress, children of transgression, offspring of lies & deceit, who BURN with unrestrained LUST… slaying her children upon the altar of “Christianity”. This WHORE engages in all the licentious practices of unbridled sexuality (literally & figuratively). The climaxes are obvious: “The righteous perisheth,” 57:1. How many true Christians have perished in some of the religious whorehouses of today? “… and no man layeth it to heart: & merciful men are taken away, none considering that the righteous is taken away from the evil to come” (vs.1). “… draw near hither, ye sons of the sorceress, the seed of the adulterer & the whore” (vs.3).
My God! How many of God’s people have become ensnared, captured by “religious pimps”. The decadence of our day is damning! How many LGBTQ Churches have sprung up all over the land… inflaming themselves with forbidden idols/sins? These “Canaanite cult churches” (CCC) are exactly like those in Isaiah’s day. [see also Ezek. 16:44: “… As is the mother, so is her daughter” see my articles against the LGBTQ cult of sinfulness].
As I close, remember those who are trapped – held captive in these whore houses called “Church”. The WAY of Jesus is meant to be made evident through those who know Him as Savior, Deliverer, Master, & Lord. Pray for the damned, the deceived that they will be delivered… the intensity of sinfulness in the land grows daily.
Put aside your favorite junk foods & seek the True Bread of Life. Flee fornication! Flee the houses of prostitution! Flee these 3-ring circuses that are full of clowns that make fun of the Son. The solution to the pollution is Repentance Revolution!
