IN THIS ARTICLE I want to deal with Muhammad’s prophetic call (I have other articles written on this subject as well). Since he claims to be “The End Time Prophet,” we must define what is meant by “prophet.” The following is taken from “Answering Islam” (by N. L. Geisler and Abdul Saleeb):
“In Arabic there are two basic words used of God’s messengers. The term rasul means “one who is sent” (like the Greek apostolos), and the term nabi signifies “one who carries information and proclaims news from God” (this is identical to the Hebrew nabi).
By nature a prophet must be a mere human being, but one of impeccable (isma) character, meaning that he is either sinless or else completely free from all major sins. As to the mission of a prophet, the Quran is unequivocal: 16:36 says, “In every community We have raised up a messenger [to proclaim]: ‘Worship ye Allah and shun idolatry’” (see also 40:15).
THE HOLY BIBLE SAYS NOTHING ABOUT A “COMING” PROPHET THAT WOULD TAKE JESUS’ PLACE IN HISTORY. But we find Muhammad attempting to do this. The Quran claims that his message—to the world—is the LAST and FINAL word of God, and it was put in perfect written form and preserved without error. Well, we’ve blown that piece of Islamic propaganda to HELL (see our many other articles for proof). Islam’s (hubris) Arabic pride knows no bounds! It’s (false) prophet considered himself, “The Seal of the Prophets” (Sura 33:40). The well-known hadith states his uniqueness like this: “I have been given victory through the inspiring of awe at the distance of a month’s journey; I have been given permission to intercede; I have been sent to all mankind; and the prophets have been sealed with me.” Muhammad Ibn Ismail Al-Bukhari records 5 things Muhammad claimed were given to him that no one—even Christ Jesus!—had ever received before him. The first one is: “Allah made me victorious by awe, by His frightening my enemies for a distance of one month’s journey” (Vol. 1, cpt. 7, p. 331; for the rest, see my article on “Jihad in the Hadith”).
Well, I just flat out deny Muhammad’s claim. First and foremost, Jesus was sinless (as their books claim), and Muhammad was sinful (as their books claim). Just because ONE Arab claimed that he superseded Abraham, Moses, Jesus, and others as THE prophet of God, does NOT make it true. Give us a break!
Also, I have proved, by Scripture, that NOWHERE in the Old or New Testament is Muhammad’s name mentioned (see those articles also).
Listen Up!
I’VE READ ENOUGH of the Quran, Hadith, and many Islamic Scholar’s writings to let me know that Muhammad believed in what he was doing—building a “new” religion/way of life for the Arabs, since the Jews and Christians already had theirs. There is no doubt that Islam’s (false) prophet BELIEVED he was called to be the Last and FINAL End Time Prophet. “Of course,” as one Christian scholar has said, “as all thinking people know, NEITHER SUBJECTIVE EXPERIENCE NOR SINCERITY OF CONVICTION IS IN ITSELF A PROOF OF THE AUTHENTICITY OF THAT EXPERIENCE.” I’ll say AMEN to that. There are many sincere/zealous people who believe they are right when in reality they are DEAD WRONG! I believe this about Muhammad.
No Proof!!
I HAVE DEALT with their belief that our Holy Bible predicted a coming prophet called Muhammad, and many before me have done the same. One of the most popular books on the market is, “Muhammad in the Bible,” by Addu-L-Ahad Dawud. Get his book and see what he thinks, believes, and writes (1979, see p. 11 especially). On page 156, he says, “It is absolutely impossible to get at the truth, the true religion, from these Gospels, unless they are read and examined from an Islamic and Unitarian point of view.” BULL! there is nothing Islamic/Arabic about our Bible, except that Saudi Arabia is mentioned.
The Gospels are Hebrew/Israel/Greek/Aramaic (in language/culture), but somehow this Dawud guy finds Muhammad. HA! Where? If he (and other deluded authors/scholars/historians) throw Deut. 18:15-18 at you, reading MUHAMMAD into verse 18, don’t believe it. That prophecy targeted JESUS. They claim that it was Muhammad, the “unlettered prophet.” Get serious. God help their dumbness and pride. They claim that Sura 7:157 (in the Quran) is Muhammad: “Those who follow the Apostle, the unlettered Prophet, whom they find mentioned in their own (Scriptures)—In the law and the Gospel…”
Ali’s Quran, footnote no. 1127 reads: “In this verse is a pre-figuring, to Moses, of the Arabian Apostle, the last and greatest of the apostles of God…” (his note is lengthy so I’ve only quoted a portion). This pitiful author/scholar (?) makes a fool out of himself by stating that (in the same footnote), “…the Gospel as now accepted by the Christians, Christ promised another Comforter (Jn. 14:16): the Greek word Paraclete which the Christians interpret as referring to the Holy spirit is by our Doctors taken to be Periclyte, which would be the Greek form Ahmad (or, as they put it, Muhammad!).”
I just finished an article on this Greek word, which will make one BLUSH when their “Ahmad” is applied to the many texts where we find the words, “Holy Spirit.” Their reasoning will literally make you either cry or laugh.
Use common sense folks. Look at what verse 18 really says, look at the word “brethren,” which means “fellow Israelites,” NOT “ARABS.” And go back to verse 2: “Therefore shall they have no inheritance among their BRETHREN…” This was speaking of the Jewish (not ARAB) Levites.
So, why would God raise up for His covenant people—Israelites—a prophet from their enemies? All throughout Deuteronomy the word “brethren” means “Israelites,” not foreigners (see also 17:15).
Islam’s (false/deceitful) prophet came from Ishmael, not from Isaac. Note Genesis 17:21:
“But My covenant will I establish with Isaac, which Sarah shall bear unto thee at this set time in the next year.” Later God said, “In Isaac your seed shall be called” (Gen. 21:12).
Pay attention: “And we bestowed on him Isaac and Jacob, and we established the Prophethood and the Scriptures among his seed” (Sura 29:27). Ali’s footnote no. 3417 reads: “Isaac was Abraham’s son and Jacob his grandson, and among his progeny was included Ismail the oldest son of Abraham. Each of these became a fountain-head of Prophecy and Revelation, Isaac and Jacob through Moses and Ismail through the holy Apostle Muhammad.” Really? The Bible does not even hint at this. The Prophethood came through Isaac, period. According to the Torah, when Abraham prayed, “Oh that Ishmael might live before you!,” God answered EMPHATICALLY, “My covenant I will establish with Isaac.” The Muslims added Ishmael to the Prophethood, not God.
Why do Muslims insist that Muhammad was included? and not only do they include him, but they elevate him ABOVE Jesus Christ the Lord!!!
Yusuf Ali, as shown above, adds the word “Abraham” (Sura 29:27, in brackets) and changes the meaning as follows: “We gave (Abraham) Isaac and Jacob, and ordained among his progeny Prophethood and Revelation.” So, by adding “Abraham,” the father of Ishmael, he can include Muhammad, a descendent of Ishmael, in the prophetic line! A bit of DECEIT!!
Abraham’s home, dear readers, is not found in the Arabic text of the Quran.
This kind of deceitfulness is found in most of Islam’s writings. Can we trust them to be honest? NO!
Galatians 4:4, 5
“BUT WHEN the fulness of the time was come, God sent forth His Son, made of a woman, made under the law, to redeem them that were under the law, that we might receive the adoption of Sons.”
Jesus here, found among his own Jewish people, fulfilled Gal. 4:4, 5. He also fulfilled Deut. 18:18 as we’ve already seen. John 8:28 and 12:49 are the fulfillment of that Old Testament prophecy. Luke 13:33 fulfills Deut. 18:18 perfectly, “…for it cannot be that a PROPHET perish out of Jerusalem;” the people also considered Jesus to be a PROPHET (see Matt. 21:11; Lk. 7:16; 24:19; Jn. 4:19; 6:14; 7:40 and 9:17).
So, as the Son of God, Jesus the Christ/Messiah/Savior/Prophet spoke to men for God. Not only as prophet, but as Priest (Heb. 7-10) and King (Rev. 19-20).
Let’s face the truth head-on: Muhammad was NOT the fulfillment of Deut. 18:18. Jesus also performed signs/wonders/miracles which Islam’s FALSE prophet did not do!!
Deut. 33:2
GEISLER AND SALEEB comment about the above text:
“Many Islamic scholars believe that this verse predicts three separate visitations of God: one on Sinai to Moses, another to Seir through Jesus, and in Paran—Arabia—through Muhammad (at Mecca).”
Well, get out your map folks and let’s look at the area. “Paran” and “Seir” are near Egypt in the Sinai peninsula (see Genesis 14:6; Num. 10:12; 12:16-13:3; Deut. 1:1). None of these were in Palestine where Jesus ministered, so count out “Seir.” Nor was “Paran” near Mecca, but hundreds of miles away in southern Palestine in the northeastern Sinai.
Somehow these hubris Islamic scholars believe Deut. 33:2 speaks of Muhammad and his jihad warriors: “And he said, ‘The LORD came from Sinai, and rose up from Seir unto them; He shined forth from mount Paran and He came with ten thousands of saints…’”
While it is true that Muhammad left Medina (after he left Mecca because the people rejected his “prophetship”) and went back to Mecca with (estimated) 10,000 jihadists to kill Muhammad’s enemies (where is his peace / love / compassion / mercy?), note Deut. 33:2= “ten thousandS,” not 10,000.
Furthermore (Deut. 33:2)…
FURTHERMORE, my dear Muslims, this text is speaking of the “Lord” coming, not Muhammad (although at times, he believed himself to be “the Lord!”).
There is NO WAY anyone can read MUHAMMAD into this text. It may also be pointed out that this Old Testament prophecy isn’t about Islam: it is said to be one, “with which Moses the man of God blessed the children of Israel before his death” (see Deut. 33:1). The chapter goes on to pronounce a blessing on each of the tribes of Israel, who “Will thrust out the enemy” (v. 27).
Deut. 34:10
I’VE GONE OVER those verses in times past, but for the sake of this article, let’s refresh our minds.
Deut. 34:10: “And there arose not a prophet since in Israel like unto Moses, whom the Lord knew face-to-face.” These hubris Muslims argue incessantly that this proves that the predicted prophet could not be an Israelite, but in fact was Muhammad—Mu-ham-MAD!
Again, we turn to Christian scholars that know prophecy and have language skills.
The word “since” in 34:10 means since Moses’ death, up until the time the final chapter was written (—by Joshua. It could have been written by Moses, about his own death before he died, but most contribute it to Joshua). This “Prophet” certainly was NOT Muhammad (the false prophet)…for Muhammad did not perform miracles like Moses or Jesus (see Dt. 34:11). SURA 2:118 AND 3:183, BOTH ARE CONFESSIONS THAT MUHAMMAD DID NOT PERFORM SIGNS / WONDERS / MIRACLES:
Sura 2:118: “Say those without knowledge: ‘why speaketh not God unto us? Or why cometh not unto us a Sign?’ So said the people before them words of similar import. Their hearts are alike. We have indeed made clear the Signs unto any people who hold firmly to Faith (in their hearts).” No physical Signs!
Sura 3:183: “…Say: ‘There came to you Apostles before Me, with clear signs and even with what ye ask for: why then did ye slay them, if ye speak the truth?’” (v. 184 also speaks about “Clear Signs”).
Now, here starts our examination: DID MUHAMMAD AND ALLAH (GOD) CONVERSE FACE-TO-FACE (Deut. 34:10)?
There are several conflicting versions in the Quran about how Islam’s (false) prophet received his “revelations.” We’ll examine those in a minute.
Jesus, on the other hand, like Moses, WAS a DIRECT mediator who COMMUNICATED DIRECTLY with God (—His Heavenly Father: see John 1:18; 12:49 and cpt. 17). These alone refute the Muslim’s claim that Muhammad was the “prophet” in question, not Jesus.
First Timothy 2:5 and Hebrews 9:15 plainly tell us this:
“For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus” (1 Tim. 2:5);
“And for this cause He is the mediator of the New Testament, that by means of death, for the redemption of the transgressions that were under the first testament, they which are called might receive the promise of eternal inheritance” (Heb. 9:15).
You can’t make Muhammad fit into these texts!
Other texts where Muslims try to see Muhammad are Habakkuk 3:3 and Ps. 45:3-5. This one is really silly: “Gird thy sword upon thy thigh, O most mighty, with thy glory and thy majesty.” They claim this is their mighty warrior. WELL, WE CAN THANK THEM FOR AT LEAST TELLING US THAT THEIR PROPHET WAS A WARRIOR—A JIHAD WARRIOR WHO USED THE SWORD TO SPREAD ISLAM. I’VE BEEN TRYING TO CONVINCE THE POLITICALLY CORRECT DUPES OF THIS FOR YEARS!
But this psalm is not about Muhammad, it is about Jesus: He was the “sword”— the sword of the Spirit! Muslims ought to know this (see Rev. 1:16= “…and out of His [Jesus’] mouth went a sharp two-edged sword…”)
Bible scholars are exactly right when they claim that the person spoken of as “God” (v. 6), was, according to the New Testament, who Jesus claimed to be (Jn. 8:58 and 10:30). We all know that Muhammad denied being God; at least this is ONE truth he spoke.
Jesus, as a human Prophet (yet, at the same time, God in flesh), came not with a physical sword, such as Muhammad did, but in Rev. 19:11-16 we see Him coming the second time with the “armies of Heaven.” Second Thes. 1:7, 8 also shows Jesus coming, “in flaming fire taking vengeance…” Hebrews 1:8 tells us, “But unto the Son He saith, ‘Thy Throne, O God, is for ever and ever (not Muhammad taking His place!): a sceptre of righteousness is the sceptre of Thy Kingdom.’” Muhammad’s “throne” was one of unrighteousness. Remember, the Quran says that Muhammad was sinful and Jesus was sinless.
We could also cite Isa. 21:7, Matt. 3:11 and John 14:16, as do Muslims…claiming they all refer to their (false) prophet (I have refuted these beforehand in other articles).
The last one—Jn. 14:16—is the most stunning of all. The Muslim scholars see Muhammad as “Helper” (Greek, paraclete), placing it on Sura 61:6. They try to convince us that “Ahmad” (periclytos) is the correct rendering of the Greek word paraclete. As Greek scholars are quick to point out that of the over 5,366 Greek manuscripts of the new Testament, there is not ONE manuscript authority for placing the word periclytos (“praised one”) in the original—as the silly Muslim scholars claim it should read.
Three Views of Islam
IF YOU BELIEVE MUHAMMAD is the prophet of Allah, then you are a “believer;” if you don’t, you are a “kafir;” the third viewpoint is that of a “dhimmi,” a kafir who is an apologist for Islam.
Dhimmis do not believe that Muhammad was a prophet, but they never say anything that would displease a Muslim.
Well, that leaves me out. FOR I’M GOING TO SAY WHAT NEEDS TO BE SAID ABOUT ISLAM: IT IS A RELIGION OF THE SWORD, A POLITICAL DEATH CULT THAT HAS A UNIVERSAL AGENDA OF DOMINATION. I can verify this by their own books and scholars.
If you do not believe what I say, read A. Guillaume’s, “The Life of Muhammad” (Oxford University Press, 1982, p. 46) where, in Medina, Muhammad watched while his warriors chopped off 800 heads of Jews—they were murdered for NOT BELIEVING that Muhammad was the prophet of God. Can you even imagine Jesus allowing (Muhammad commanded it) such a thing? This is merely one example of Muhammad’s love/peace/sorcery /compassion/tolerance!
Muhammad’s Call
THERE IS NO DOUBT that the Quran speaks about Muhammad’s prophetic call, but just because the Quran says so, does not make it true. Besides, there are conflicting versions that add to the confusion.
Let us look at 4 of these versions:
In the Quran on FOUR DIFFERENT OCCASIONS, the prophet described his initial call to be prophet and apostle:
1: In sura 53:2-18 and sura 81:19-24 we are told that Allah PERSONALLY appeared to Muhammad in the form of a man: Muhammad saw and heard him! Sura 53:6 says, “…For he appeared (in stately form)…” V. 10 says: “So did (God) convey the inspiration to His Servant…” V. 11 says: “The (Prophet’s) (mind and) heart in no way falsified that which he saw…” V. 18 says: “For truly did he see of the Signs of his Lord, The Greatest!”
In sura 81:19-24, verse 23 says, “And without doubt he saw him in the clear horizon”…Ali’s footnote no. 5991 says, “…where the two occasions are mentioned when there was a vision of inspiration.” So, Ali’s Quranic commentary states that Sura 53 and Sura 81 were sightings of the Lord by Muhammad.
Sura 53:2-18 is, as author/scholar Arthur Jeffery states, “The usual interpretation of the foregoing passage is that Gabriel was the one mighty in power and the one possessed of strength (vv. 5, 6), although these epithets are applied elsewhere to Allah and many modern scholars are of the opinion that this passage refers to a vision of Allah Himself coming to call the Prophet to his mission” (“Islam: Muhammad and His Religion,” 1958, p. 5).
Sura 81:19-24 we looked at, but let me add several more verses, 25-29: (note: versions of the Quran differ in reading, also, some verses may not be the exact same verse number in each version).
“When whither go ye? Verily this is no less than a message to (all) the worlds (with profit) to whoever among you wills to go straight: But ye shall not will except as God wills,—the Cherisher of the worlds.”
This passage, scholars believe, is early, but has clearly been revised. Richard Bell’s, “The Quran” (1938), II, 638, thinks it was revised in the Medinan period, when the (false) prophet had learned about the angel Gabriel and his connection with revelation, in order to make the noble messenger no longer Muhammad himself but Gabriel.
We have seen that our two Suras were Muhammad’s (supposed) call in the very beginning. But we have a problem: later we are told that Muhammad’s call was issued BY THE HOLY SPIRIT:
Sura 16:102 (and I want to include v. 101 too) says: “When we substitute one revelation for another—God knows best what He reveals (in stages)—They say, ‘Thou art but a forger’: But most of them understand not…” (This is speaking of “abrogation.”)
“Say, the Holy Spirit has brought the revelation from Thy Lord in Truth, in order to strengthen those who believe, and as a Guide and glad tidings to Muslims.” Ali’s footnote no. 2141 explains:
“The title of the Angel Gabriel, through whom the revelations came down.” MAY I ASK, WHEN DID AN ANGEL BECOME THE HOLY SPIRIT??? This is a sinister cover-up to conceal the other Suras we’ve looked at.
Sura 26:192-194 says: “Verily this is a Revelation from the Lord of the worlds: with it came down The Spirit of Faith and Truth—to Thy heart and mind, that thou mayest admonish” (see Ali’s note no. 3224. Again, Ali tries to tell us that the Spirit of Faith/Truth is Gabriel. He says, and I quote: “…I think ‘the Spirit of Faith and Truth’ will represent the original best here.’” He thinks? What is the TRUTH?). Did the (false) prophet receive his call from Allah, Gabriel, The Spirit of Faith, or man?
Holy Spirit?
IT IS SAID that since Muhammad does not really discuss who or what this “Holy Spirit” was, this was later abandoned.
But I must point out that Muslims teach, as we’ve seen, that the “Holy Spirit” was Muhammad! In John 14:16, the Greek word is “Paraclete,” not as they render it, periclytos. The point is, Muslims are familiar with the Bible name “Holy Spirit,” that Ali included.
Jesus said (and Muslims believe Him to be true/honest/sinless), “But the Helper, the Holy Spirit (or Ghost), whom the Father will send, will teach you” (Jn. 14:26). In order to make “Helper” mean Muhammad, they had to do a bit of WORD SURGERY. So, Muslims know that the Holy Ghost is not the angel Gabriel.
Angels?
DID AN ANGEL bring the call of Prophetship to Muhammad? Since Muhammad was the only one that received that “call,” we can assume Sura 15:8 is that occasion:
“We send not the angels down except for just cause: If they come (to the ungodly), Behold! no respite would they have!”
Ali’s note no. 1942 says, “Angels are not sent down to satisfy the whim or curiosity of the unbelievers. They are sent to bring inspiration to God’s messengers and to execute God’s decrees.”
In times past, Muslims claimed it was the angels who came to Muhammad, but this account was later amended in Sura 2:97 so that it was ONLY Gabriel.
Sura 2:97: “Say: whoever is an enemy to Gabriel—for he brings down The (revelation) to thy heart by God’s will, a confirmation of what went before, and guidance and glad tidings for those who believe.”
Ali’s footnote makes it plain that, YES!, it was Gabriel who was discharged to bring down his prophethood “call,” not God.
Note 101 says, “A party of the Jews in the time of Muhammad ridiculed the Muslim belief that Gabriel brought down revelations to Muhammad Mustafa.” He further states that, “Michael was called in their books ‘the great prince which standeth for the children of thy people (see Daniel 12:1).’ The vision of Gabriel inspired fear (Dan. 8:16, 17). But this pretense—that Michael was their friend and Gabriel their enemy—was merely…unbelief in angels…Muhammad’s inspiration was through visions of Gabriel…”
WE ASK, DID GABRIEL APPEAR IN PERSON, OR, IN A VISION…WHICH ARE NOT THE SAME THING. Even Satan can APPEAR as an angel of light. II Cor. 11:13 and 14 tells us that, “For such are FALSE apostles, deceitful workers, transforming themselves into the apostle of Christ” (v. 13). I truly believe this fits Muhammad, “And no marvel; for Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light” (v. 14). I personally do not believe what the Quran says about all this “Muhammad” stuff. All he did was copy the Biblical prophets of old. He wanted to have his very own religion like the Jews and Christians. The Quran contradicts itself too many times. It says that “revelations” have been set down in a formal way in the various Scriptures (Holy Bible) that have been sent to mankind, each book by the hand of a messenger; but these, it says, have also been many messengers sent from Allah (or God) with oral messages. Three words are used by Muhammad in his Quran: “mursol” (envoy), “rasul” (apostle), “nabi” (prophet), and they seem to be used interchangeably: Moses is often called a mursol, sometimes a rasul, and then a nabi. Later Islamic theology made a distinction; i.e. corrected the Quran.
Arabic Reasoning
SINCE GABRIEL had played a significant role in both Jesus and John the Baptist’s birth, Muhammad, naturally, had to use Gabriel—he could not be outdone! Many scholars believe, as I do, that it was only appropriate that the next GREAT prophet in line had to be Muhammad…called by Gabriel. IF ONE WANTS SOMETHING BAD ENOUGH, HE, OR SHE, CAN MAKE UP THINGS (LIKE VAIN IMAGINATIONS AND ARABIC REASONING).
What I’ve been able to ascertain by going through the Quran, Hadith, and Islamic scholars/historians etc., is that the Muslim view of their (false) prophet and the prophet himself, suffers from what one scholar called “an acute case of over-claim!” Most scholars (Biblical/Christian) do not find support for the CLAIM that Muhammad was called to bring the FULL and FINAL revelation from Allah/God in the circumstance of Muhammad’s day.
Have any of you read where Muhammad claimed that an angel (Gabriel no less!), “…choked me with the cloth until I believed that I should die. Then he released me and said: ‘Recite!’ (Iqra).” The story (fable?) goes on that when he hesitated, he received “twice again the repeated harsh treatment” (see Tor Andrae’s “Mohammed: The Man and His Faith,” 1955 for more info.).
Nowhere in the Bible do we find such a thing as an angel choking a prophet.
Another book to read is M. H. Haykal, one of the most widely respected (modern) MUSLIM BIOGRAPHERS, WHO WRITES ABOUT MUHAMMAD’S FEAR OF BEING DEMON-POSSESSED (1976).
This Muslim biographer, Haykal, questions Muhammad’s “revelations.” Listen to this: “The Arab’s imagination is by nature strong. Living as he does under the vault of Heaven and moving constantly in search of pasture or trade, and being constantly forced into the excesses, exaggerations, and even lies which the life of trade usually entails, the Arab is given to the exercise of his imagination and cultivates it at all times whether for good or for ill, for peace or war” (see p. 319).
That, my friends, is Islam! That was Muhammad! Haykal is not alone in his evaluation of Islam, and especially of its (false) prophet:
Finally, we should mention an incident related in Islamic hadiths that can shed much light on this discussion. One of Muhammad’s scribes in Medina was Abdollah b. Abi Sarh. Dashti relates the following story concerning this scribe:
On a number of occasions he had, with the Prophet’s consent, changed the closing words of verses. For example, when the Prophet had said “And God is mighty and wise” (‘aziz, hakim), ‘Abdollah b. Abi Sarh suggested writing down “knowing and wise” (‘alim, hakim), and the Prophet answered that there was no objection. Having observed a succession of changes of this type, ‘ABDOLLAH RENOUNCED ISLAM ON THE GROUND THAT THE REVELATIONS, IF FROM GOD, COULD NOT BE CHANGED at the prompting of a scribe such as himself. After his apostasy he went to Mecca and joined the Qorayshites” (End Quote: Ali Dashti, “Twenty Three Years;” London: George Allen & Unwin, 1985, p. 98),
“It is also an accepted fact in Sunni tradition that on a few occasions Quranic revelations were prompted by the suggestions of Muhammad’s loyal follower, Umar b. al-Khattab” (Dashti, ibid., p. 111).
“Revelation”
IN ARABIC, revelation literally means, “handed down.” So, were the Quranic revelations handed down by God, Gabriel, or mere angels?, OR, was it Muhammad’s imagination (copying the Holy Bible)?
In the Quran, there is a DENIAL that there were any human or earthly sources; all was “handed down” by Allah through Gabriel (supposedly).
The Quran tells us that the revelations “handed down,” were for people to understand. Yet there are things written, meaningless Quranic words, that even Muslims don’t understand. I quote, “The Itqon” (pt. 2, p. 4) where the Suyuti states:
“Muhammad’s companions, who are genuine Arabs, eloquent in language, in whose dialect the Quran was given to them, have stopped short in front of some words and failed to know their meanings, thus they said nothing about them. When Abu Bakr was asked about the Quranic statement ‘and fruits and fodder’ (8:31), he said, ‘What sky would cover me or what land would carry me if I say what I do not know about the book of God?’ ‘Umar ibn al-Khattab read the same text from the rostrum, then he said. ‘This fruit we know, but what is fodder?’ Sa’id ibn Jubair was asked about the Quranic text in chapter 13 of Mary. He said, ‘I asked ibn ‘Abbas about it, but he kept silent”’
Then the Suyuti indicated that ibn ‘Abbas said that he does not know the meanings of some of the Quranic verses (like these in Chapter 69:36, 9:114 and 18:9).
I have quoted the Suyuti’s text word for word, and stated the confession of ibn ‘Abbas who is interpreter of the Quran and legal jurist of the caliphs for whom Muhammad pleaded with God to enlighten his mind to comprehend the meaning of the Quran. Also, who was closer to Muhammad, my dear Muslim, than Abu Bakr and Umar, the first two caliphs along with ibn ‘Abbas? All of them failed to comprehend many of the Quranic verses. Therefore, the Suyuti warns that anyone who attempts to conceive the meanings of these words will suffer complete failure. Then he mentions that the caliphs and ibn ‘Abbas, themselves, did not know their meanings.
Of course, he was right, because if those great leaders had failed to know their meanings, who would? Certainly, those intimate companions of Muhammad asked him about the meanings of those obscure words, but it is clear enough that MUHAMMAD HIMSELF FAILED TO KNOW THEIR MEANINGS, otherwise he would have explained them to his companions as he did on several other occasions.
In addition to these ambiguous words there are at least 14 other words or symbols which are recorded at the introductory part of Quranic chapter 29. These codes are entirely ambiguous. Also four of these codes are titles for four chapters; therefore, four Quranic chapters have meaningless titles. These chapters are chapter Taha, ya sin, Sad, and Qaf. When the Jalalan attempted to expound the meanings of these 14 obscure words and the titles of these chapters, they said, “God alone knows His own intention” (End Quote: taken from “Behind the Veil”).
The Suyuti goes on to say, “The Quran is divided into sound, intelligible (verses) and obscure, unintelligible (verses). The obscure (verses) are only known to God such as the detached alphabets at the beginning of the chapters” (“The Itqon,” pt. 3, p. 3).
Not only this, but ANYONE WHO ATTEMPTED TO UNDERSTAND THOSE WORDS/OBSCURE VERSES, WAS PUNISHED! Can you imagine a Christian minister punishing a new (or old) convert for asking about a certain word/text? Actually, Muhammad was so fearful and unsure of his prophetship that he had people punished, tortured, and even murdered!!
On pages 7 and 8 (pt. 3 of “The Itqon”), it is recorded that a man was punished till he almost expired for just asking a question.
This same MURDEROUS spirit (of Satan!) is in the earth as I write. Haven’t you seen the signs Muslims hold up saying, “Behead those who insult Islam (or Muhammad)?”
I could write pages about all this.
It Has Been Asked
USAMA K. DAKDOK writes: “…Muslims believe the Bible has been corrupted, but that the Quran is the perfect word of Allah. All this leads to this final thought, that Islam is the only accepted religion and Muhammad is the final prophet; therefore, he must be the greatest prophet of all. I would like to pose a question. ACCORDING TO THE QURAN, CAN MUHAMMAD EVEN BE A PROPHET? In the Quran we read that the prophethood was given to the children of Israel, the descendants of Jacob (we covered this already). In Quran 45:16 and 29:27 it tells us this. Was Muhammad a descendent of Israel?”
Well, we’re waiting for a good answer from all you Islamic scholars. According to your Quran, Muhammad believed the (Christian) Holy Scriptures were reliable:
“When it is recited to them, they say: ‘We believe therein, for it is the truth from our Lord: Indeed we have been Muslims from before this.’” (Sura 28:53). Muhammad believed that before Islam, Muslims (Jews/Christians) had the Sacred Scriptures:
“He is who has named you Muslims, both before and in this (Quran)” (sura 22:78);
“Knowledge was bestowed on us in advance of this, and we have submitted to God (in Islam)” (27:42);
“Who is better in speech than one who calls to God, works righteousness and says; ‘I am those who bow in Islam’” (41:33).
So, the Quran teaches that before Muhammad started “his” (bloody) religion, Muslims existed with the Holy Scriptures, i.e., Christians and Jews.
Since I have a lengthy article on this already, I’ll cite these suras/verses for you to look up concerning the “People of the Book,” and “The Book:”
Suras 34:6; 6:114; 5:83; 5:68; 17:80; 35:31; 29:46; 3:44; 12:102; 11:49; 17:39.
The following are Suras where Muhammad is recalling the former prophets (real ones!): 19:41; 19:51; 19:56; 38:41; 38:48; 38:45; 46:21; 19:16.
The Bible Tells Us…
INSTEAD OF OUR HOLY BIBLE predicting the “coming” of Muhammad, Jesus plainly tells us this:
“And many FALSE PROPHETS shall rise up, and shall deceive many” (Matt. 24:11).
The following is from “Exposing the Truth about the Quran,” by Usama K. Dakdok (2013, pp. 290, 291):
Mohammed’s Call to Prophethood
“On a cold winter night, Mohammed ran from the cave of Hara after he saw a spirit. He was sweating with fear, crying, “Zamalony, Zamalony,” which means “cover me, cover me.” When he reached home, his wife Khadijah comforted him and told him that the next time the spirit appeared she would perform some tests, so they would know whether it was a godly or demonic spirit. Depiction of these ridiculous tests is another portion of the Mohammed movie which causes Muslims to be upset.
On another night the same spirit appeared to Mohammed, and he told his wife, so she performed her tests.” (Readers can go online and read about the tests of Khadijah and the proof of Mohammed’s prophecy at http://www.islamweb.net/newlibrary/display_book.php?bk_no=58&ID=192&idfrom=261&idto=274&bookid =58&startno=7.) “She told him to sit on her left thigh, and then she asked, “Do you see the spirit?” He replied, “Yes.” Then she asked him to sit on her right thigh and repeated her question. He replied, “Yes, I see him.” She held him on her lap and asked him a third time, “Do you still see him?” He answered, “Yes.” At that point she sighed and uncovered herself. She asked Mohammed one last time, “Do you still see the spirit?” He said, “No.”
Then she rejoiced and announced to him, “O Mohammed, good news. You are the apostle of Allah, and this spirit is nothing but an angel.” (Notice this is Gabreel, as his name was originally spelled. This is not the angel Gabriel.) Later she took Mohammed to her cousin, Waraka Ibn Nawfal, who was a heretic monk who assured Mohammed that this was Angel Gabreel. That is how Mohammed proved his prophethood. Reference in the Mohammed movie to the assistance this individual gave Mohammed in creating the Quran further incited Muslims.
Let us examine this proof of prophethood. First, note in the following verse that the witness of a woman in Islam is only equal to half of men. In Quran 2:282, we read: “…So if the debtor was mentally deficient or weak or cannot dictate, so let his friend dictate with fairness and call two witnesses from your men; so if there were not two men so one man and two women of those among whom you are pleased for witnesses so that if one of them (the women) should make an error, the other may cause her to remember….”
ACCORDING TO THIS VERSE, THE REQUIREMENT FOR A WITNESS IS TWO MEN OR ONE MAN AND TWO WOMEN. (*See footnote below.) We see, in resolving the proof of Mohammed’s prophecy, that half of a man, that is, his wife Khadijah, was enough. This is unacceptable according to the teaching of the Quran. We must ask the following question: how could she be a witness to something she herself had not seen? This was a very basic and vital witness case [for Muslims about Muhammad’s prophethood], but this testimony would not stand in any court, especially a Muslim court.
We have to ask another question. How did she know that this was an angel and not a demon? Muslims claim that angels would not be in the presence of uncovered women, while demons would not mind. Since the spirit left the room when she uncovered herself, the implication was that this was a godly angel. How can we know this was not a demon who left the room on purpose to deceive Khadijah and Mohammed?
How then did she or her cousin know for sure that this was the Angel Gabreel and not Mika ‘il [Michael] or any other angel? She just said these things, and that settled the case of Mohammed’s prophethood for him, for all his followers, and for all the scholars forevermore. Another question is this: Is this the way to prove someone is a prophet?
(*Footnote: In the case of adultery, the requirement for a witness is four. Quran 24:4: “And those who accuse virtuous women, then they cannot bring four witnesses, then scourge them with eighty stripes, and do not receive their testimony forever, and those are the transgressors.”) (End Quote)
IT IS PAST TIME TO STOP ACCEPTING ISLAM AS A GODLY RELIGION, IT IS A POLITICAL / RELIGIOUS DEATH CULT.
