1 Cor. 13:4-7 speaks of love, envy, pride, behaving rudely, evil, iniquity, truth, belief, hope, & endurance. Prof. Gordan P. Fee, in his book on First Corinthians (1987) singles out love vs. evil/evil vs. Truth. He says, “for without love one quite misses the point of being Christian… The easiest way to move this paragraph (1 Cor. 13:4-7) from their situation to ours is simply to give it a new ad hoc expression, in terms of how one thinks of his/her own life to be spiritually significant.” (pg.635). One might read those verses this way:
1) “Love is patient; love is kind; does not envy,” etc.
2) “Love is patient, is kind; love does not envy, does not boast;” etc.
3) “Love is patient; love is kind; love does not envy;” etc.
4) “Love is patient; is kind; love does not envy; love does not boast; is not proud.”
What about Today?
Yes! We live in a loveless, hateful time – this is a fact! It is true that exhibiting genuine love – human or Christian – is challenging. With a series of 15 verbs (as in certain versions) Paul proceeds to describe the “love” that he has just insisted is the sine qua non of Christian behavior. Do you match up? Do I match up? I admit I need more love!
God’s Love vs. the World’s Hate
It is hard enough to love another Christian brother/sister, let alone love those of the hate-filled world. I’m not writing from a mature love point of view but from a struggling Christian point of view.
I want to concentrate on vs.6: “(love) …does not rejoice in iniquity but rejoices in the truth.” (NKJV). Some versions use “evil” rather than “iniquity”; however, since it is balanced by its opposite, “but rejoices with (or “in”) the truth,” it is probable that they are to be understood together, as 2 sides of the same reality. “Evil” & “Truth”, therefore, are probably thought of here in the larger sense of the Gospel & all that is opposed to it. Here again by Paul’s use of agapē he is especially reflecting the love of God, not humanistic love.
Some see God’s love in conflict with His judgment /punishments (as I write about in my articles “Canaanite Hyperbole” 1-4, where God orders limited & unlimited extermination of certain evil tribes. I also have articles, “Divine mercy; Divine Genocide” 1-4, posted on our site: Righteous Revolution).
How could (can) a loving God allow or execute Himself such gruesome atrocities? This does not set well with today’s WOKE/P.C. crowd. They see God as a BULLY, Blood Thirsty, EVIL (like Satan!), hence they have determined to put a STOP to God & His people at any cost.

How do we do this without becoming hate filled like the woke /P.C. warriors? We cannot resort to violence as they have but we must seek God for tactics of war without violent means. I for one do not condemn the current administration (Trump/Vance et al.) for the way they are fighting back. This nation needs to be brought under control – the haters of America/Christianity are filled with demon seed, hence, violence!
The Amp. Bible records that love “does not take into account a wrong endured,” 1 Cor. 13:5. Other trans. record, “does not reckon the evil,” “thinks no evil,” “it keeps no record of wrongs,” this last one literally says that love “does not reckon the evil.” Since the language is closely related to the LXX/O.T. Gk. of Zech. 8:17 – “And let none of you devise or even imagine evil in your heart against another, & do not love lying or half-truths; for all these things I hate, declares the LORD.” (Amp. Bible).
We expect just the opposite coming from the non-Christian camp (e.g. dem. party et al in the political sphere). They are habitual liars, wanting to MURDER the TRUTH any chance they get!. Sadly, the GOP have some of these also in their ranks as well. But we do not expect this coming from the Christian camp, yet, sadly, we find them behaving like this as well. We have suffered dearly under the hateful attacks coming from many church folks over the years. They accuse us of being hateful & unloving while they drag us into courts with outlandish & egregious LIES to DESTROY us as individuals & as a Christian group… which landed many of us in jail/prison/& being fined… All in the name of the “truth” so-called!
The media for years asked us why we did not fight back in the courts. We told them if we did this, we would be like unto them. When the State stepped in – put us in jail/prison, we did fight back, getting Deborah released from a 72-year sentence (made up of LIES by both “Christians” & corrupt cops/attorneys/judges. They showed zero tolerance for truth, but truth eventually prevailed. (God saw to it that some of those liars got what was coming!).
Trust me, I had to face the evil desire to “get back” at our enemies, some of which were ex-members who did not want to give up their (hidden?) sins, which we knew about & warned them against.
Global War
As I write (March 2025) there are wars & rumors of wars globally. You hear of this daily. America has embarked upon a 2nd Civil War (undeclared, nevertheless real). We have internal enemies that LUST for America’s destruction. They want a Marxist/Stalinist regime whereby the citizens are “rightless” & dependent upon them. I’ve written about this for years & years (see our posted 45 commie Goals to destroy America; these 45 goals was put into the Congressional Record by Hon. A.S. Herlong Jr. of Florida. In the Houses of Reps, Jan. 10, 1963.
After years & years of attacks against the constitutional Republic/the Christian Church et al., immorality has slowly-but-surely chipped away at the foundation upon which America was established. Every realm has been affected. Truth-hating zealots have worked decade after decade to bring America, aka United States under their control, hence, Divided States of America! Under Trump/Vance conservatism is one again on the BATTLEFIELD to “Make America Great Again” (MAGA). Their goal is to DRAIN the STINKING SWAMP!!! This bold move is causing one HELL of a political storm.
The “Right” & the “Left” have an insatiable appetite to bring all things under their CONTROL. The demonic dems claim Trump /Vance are destroying this nation. HA! Better fact check that! The GOP claims, and has proof! that under the Clintons, Obama, Biden regime America has nearly been “put to rest” forever! The evil being brought into the light is nothing short of astounding. The Millions /Billions /Trillions $$$ wasted is breathtaking… all to bankrupt us & establish their SATANIC PARTY of shameless sickos. Marxist Man insists on creating a New World Order (odor!), a self-perpetuating cycle of human misery for those who refuse them. They scream “Freedom in our time for all men!” While they put shackles on our hands & feet, stuffing rags in our mouths!
Sicko Joe!
Yep! This sicko (who loves to sniff little girls & boys) was hailed as being “sharp as a tack,” while he fumbled & stumbled his way thru 4 years of RULERSHIP. He was hailed as “the greatest genius of the age,” even though he couldn’t remember people, places, or things, dates & faces were forgotten. But Ol’ Joe saw himself as a swashbuckler feuding against those “right-wing” nut jobs that were lost and needed his guidance. His hunger to BE GREAT made him the nation’s worse FAILURE as POTUS. His immeasurable hate for what is RIGHT has brought this man into total RUIN! Throughout his career as Senator, VP, & POTUS he was never able to capture the nation. His ego stood in the way. He LUSTED for “greatness” but in the end got “failure”.
During his intellectual incubation he allowed hatred for truth to rule, hence, he became a BIG LIAR. This is FACT. The internet testifies to this FACT, not my words but those who have investigated him. Biden’s exotic flash of GRANDEUR fascinated both him & his (dumb) followers. His revolutionary spirit flamed high when it came time to put the hurt on the American people. He was king! He needed worship! It is just coming to light the dishonest/evil things he did while POTUS. What will come to light will testify against him, not those who smelled a RAT all along. Let us pray that Trump does not become what Biden is. Pride can & will destroy.
Love, be it Christian or human has a tenacity in the present, buoyed by its absolute confidence in the future, that enables it to live in every kind of circumstance & continually to pour itself out in behalf of others. We are reminded of what Shakespeare’s famous line, “Love is not love which alters when it alteration finds.” There are those in the political camp-dem./GOP – who have a genuine love for their country & for its people. The same goes for the Christian Church. But sadly, there are those who are just opposite…
Did Jesus always show “love”? “I’ve written articles on this. While He did not allow His human will to come under demonic persuasion, he did allow the Holy Spirit (within) to exercise free will when the occasion arose (e.g. Mt. 23 is good example. Check out how many times He used the word “woe” – vss.13,14,15,16,23,25,27,29. The Gk. Word is ouai (ovai), an interjection used in denunciation (see also Mt. 11:21; 18:7; 24:19; 26:24; Mk. 13:17; 14:21; Lk. 6:24,25,26; 10:13; 6 times in ch.11; 17:1; 21:23; 22:22; 1 Cor. 9:16; Jude 11; Rev. 8:13 (3 times); 12:12; 9:12; 11:14. This “Woe” war Jesus waged added fuel to the fire – the enemies of the truth were more determined to RID the nation of this religious revolutionary more than ever.
Apropos
With regard to the current situation, the haters of truth are avowed to rid America of Trump & his MAGA warriors. They have declared war on his war – (which is actually God’s holy war.) The Lord told us that He was going to uncover all the “evils” that have been covered up by the truth haters – which we are NOW seeing done. this is not to say that Trump et al. are righteous, but God is using them for this anti-resistance movement.
The emergence of this Trump/Vance (now Musk) reign, the demon-cratic party with its WOKE/Politically Correct warriors have united to form a “resistance movement.” This, in turn, has brought about the GOP et al. to form a strong RED Anti-Resistance Movement (ARM) to counter them, (kind of sound like & looks like the 60’s movements). It is obvious that the DP/Woke Left et al. have given way to use violence (calling it “Protest”). But we shall not do likewise, we can protest in a non-violent way. We can use media means or other means to protest. The dems are foaming at the mouth (some literally!) because they LOST the nation to Trump /Vance. What else can they do except BITCH & PITCH a FIT!!
America has spoken! Clean out the SWAMP! The stink is unbearable. The fecal matter floats down every avenue in the U.S.. Feces has seeped into every institution in America… coming from the rear-ends of the DP/Left et al. These feckless folks, full of feculent matter, have no shame – they curse God as well as us!
Jesus has pronounced WOE on today’s PC/Woke/Dem. establishment. As said, “woe”, as Jesus used it (οὐαί) meant “horror, an interjection of pain & warning.” (The EDNT (Exegetical Dict. of the New Test). After His 8 “woes” Jesus said to the religious scribes, “See! Your house is left to you desolate,” vs.38, used in a prediction with the emphatic neg. οὐ μή. Jesus’ words in Matthew, chapter 23, were not “nice” but cutting. All factual too.
Presently, the DP has been left desolate! – & the dems know it. All they can do is bitch & throw a political fit. Sorry, we’re not sorry. You had your chance to have your “lady” K. Harris & your “gent” T. Waltz to take the reins of the president/V.P. But, you now realize, you didn’t have anything good to offer the American people, so Trump/Vance won.
Jesus’ statement – prophetic – “Behold, your house (Jerusalem/Judah) is left unto you desolate” – this was before Jesus was crucified by these religious/political bigots: the great temple was destroyed in A.D. 70 along with most of the city; the peoples were either killed or taken prisoner or scattered. DESOLATE!
According to historian Josephus (in his Jewish War VI.5.3), at the time of Pentecost, just before the temple’s fall, the priests heard a portentous voice say, “We are departing hence” God, Son, Holy Spirit departed that house of ill-repute… the rest is history. We’ll see how things go here at home.
