Q. Does “Religion” cause violence?
There is a book written by Mark Juergensmeyer called Terror in the Mind of God. This author claims that “religion” by nature is VIOLENT! Well, one has to define “religion” first. He states that religion tends to absolutize and to project images of cosmic war – even if a religion’s ultimate goal is peace & order. So, what’s Juergensmeyer’s recommendation? He believed that by injecting into religion the softening Enlightenment values of “rationality & fair play”, this will STOP or at least try to STOP violence. (2000, pages 242, 43)
Q. Why are Enlightenment values not the solution? Paul Copan asked this in his book, Is God a Moral Monster? (2011, p. 198).
Before Terror in the Mind of God came out, The Curse of Cain, authored by Regina Schwarts, she challenged the violent legacy of Monotheism (which includes Judaism, Islam, & Christianity).
Richard Dawkins has his say-so about Israel’s God being obsessed with, as he put it, “His own superiority over rival gods & with the exclusiveness of His chosen desert tribe.” (The God Delusion, 2006, p. 37). He also blasphemes Christianity. If Atheists like Richard Dawkins do not believe there is a “God”, why do they spend so much time trying to convince us that He does not exist?
In this article, I want to compare Israel’s God with Islam’s god, Allah. Since the dawning of time, violence, hatred, barbarity, murder/killing has existed. It is true that some “religions” are “peaceful” & others are not. While God allowed warfare (physical) in the O.T., in the N.T. it is spiritual warfare. If so, WHY did the Roman Catholic Church resort to physical warfare? Paul writes in Rom. 12:18: “If possible, as much as depends on you (Christians), live peaceably with all men.” Not a word about going to war if this can’t be done. Verse 19 explains vs. 18: “… do not AVENGE yourselves but rather give place to WRATH; for it is written, ‘vengeance is Mine, I will repay,’ says the Lord.” (see Ps. 94:1, 2; Neh. 12:2 etc.). This has nothing to do with secular military, but with personal Christianity.
The issue here (Rom. 12:17-21) is: “repay no one evil for evil. (see 1 Cor. 13:5; Matt. 5:43, 44). Verse 17 of Rom. 12, says, “Recompense to no man evil for evil…”, an adaptation of Prov. 3:4 & is to be understood as making the same point as Paul more explicitly makes in 2 Cor. 8:21, where the same proverb is quoted, Lk. 2:52 & 2 Cor. 4:2. This does not mean we become totally passive. No! We still rebuke & despise all that is evil & sinful. Jesus & Paul both were “passive-aggressive”.
To be honest, I have failed the test on occasion when confronted with this issue. We have been assaulted many times, but we try not to react or overreact in a hostile manner. And, for the record, we’re to love our enemies – which is HARD to DO at times! But all-in-all, at all events, reprisals have no place among the alternatives. This is not to say that we cannot be directed to pray certain prayers against certain people, places, & things.
Do not JUDGE!, Mt. 7:1. This is NOT a command for every situation. This Mt. 7:1 is about a hypocritical judgment (as vv. 2-5 shows us). We certainly are to JUDGE things but righteously (I’ve done articles on this already). This principle in sound in the (Jewish) Mishnah: “Do not judge your fellow until you are in his position” (Aboth 1:6). In Luke 6:37 & 1 Clem. 13:2 this saying is combined with commands to be merciful & generous. It is a warning against self righteous severity, not a command to be neutral toward moral issues. (see also the Mishnah, Sotah 1:7; Aboth 2:5; Rom. 2:1. Here as in Rom. 6:14-15, it is applied to forgiveness.
Jesus says in John 7:24, “Do not judge according to appearance, but judge with righteous judgment.” You go thru the N.T. & find the texts where we are told to judge. With this said let us proceed with comparing Judaism, Christianity, & Islam with each other – Do they endorse killing/murder?

When one tackles morals & ethics in religions, one is in for a real bad migraine. I mean digging into past & present religions is a challenging task. Take Judaism & Christianity for example. We wonder WHY the God of the O.T. is so different from the God of the N.T. One historian once said, besides a lot of territory to cover, the ancient Near East seems so strange & even “otherworldly”. When we dig into the Middle East, Islam seems the same. The Qur’an/hadiths takes one thru an endless maze of contradictions, abrogations, complexities – religious /political /social /sexual /ethical /moral /economic /military problems – all breathtaking.

New Testament
Nowhere in the N.T. do we find the command to kill/murder unbelievers or apostates. We do however find such in the Roman Catholic Church & Islam. This article is about the Crusades & Islam.
Christianity came out of Judaism. God chose the tribe of Judah, through which the Davidic Messiah would come – Jesus the Christ. This meant God would bring eternal salvation to both the Jews & the Gentiles. The Old & New Testament verifies this.
Objections
Yes, there will always be objections. God is Love! Yep! He is – 1 John tells us, “… for love is of God; & everyone who loves is born of God & knows God.” 1 Jn. 4:7 & 8, 16. But, God also “hates” (I have written many articles proving this. God not only hates certain things, but also certain people. (see O.T./N.T.). If God “hates” & “loves”, we His people will also. David, in ps. 139:21 says, “Do I not hate them, O LORD, who hate You?…” David went on to write, “I hate them with PERFECT HATRED; & I count them my enemies.” “Perfect hatred”? (vs. 22) We’ve got to be careful over who we count as an enemy, hence the freedom to hate! David makes it his point to ask the LORD to search his heart (vss. 1, 3 – the KJV uses the word “compassest”; the RSV uses “searchest” (which is better). Both KJV & RSV use “search” in vs. 23. He (David) wanted to know if his feelings of hate were justified. Do we ask the Holy Spirit to SEARCH our hearts? Many in the Church (besides in the world) are confused over WHY God punishes, for He is a God of love. Simple. Sin (as the Bible defines it) must be checked & often punished. Love necessitates hatred for wrongdoing. Don’t you & I hate & love? With God, Who is the Creator of human life, He has the RIGHT to love & hate, have mercy & have punishment.
N.T. Love
It teaches “love your enemies”. A central distinguishing feature of the LORD/Lord – & those who take their rule seriously – is love for one’s enemies. This is a HARD pill to swallow indeed – but it is written (see Mt. 5:46-48. The KJV uses the words, “Therefore you shall be perfect, just as Your Father in heaven is perfect,” vs. 48. Perfect? What? The “P” word is frequently used in Greek to refer to “gods”. It has much the same scope as the Eng. word, & in addition can refer to a “full-grown”/ “mature” man or woman, (e.g. Eph. 4:13), or to the member of a Gnostic sect. Jesus did not mean, I believe, we would be sinless/flawless, but honest or straight. We find “perfect” being used in Gen. 6:9 – “Perfect” here means “having integrity” (Noah); Job 1:1 has “perfect” / or “blameless”; James 1:4 uses “perfect”, meaning (Gk.) “mature”. Dt. 18:13 has “blameless”, other trans. have “perfect”. In short, the N.T. teaches us to be honest, candid, sincere, loving (one can, at times, only love with His love, not our human love). We may hate what some say or do but we can pray for them out of love for their souls. This is not to say we never rebuke or stand our ground, or fight the good fight against evil & wrongdoing. This is what Spirit Warfare is all about.
(Pt. 3)
When it comes to punishment/capital punishment, there are opinions. History deals with barbarisms, crude & evil laws (Islam esp.), crimes, bullyings, sacrifices, slavery, murder, sex trafficking, massacres, ethnic cleansing, genocide etc.
As I go into today’s lesson (1/9/26) up pops a short called, “500,000 Templars march into the Last Crusade” – Epic War Hymns by Crux & Flamma. Great scenes of these Crusaders (with song in background). Knights Templars were members of a military & religious order established among the Crusaders about 1118. A Knight Templar was a member of a certain order of Masons; Knights of Columbus, a fraternal & benevolent society of Roman Catholic men in 1882. They also founded the Knights of Malta & Knights of Pythias. The Knights of Malta were members of a religious society organized during the Middle Ages to care for the sick & needy; The Knights of Pythias was founded in 1864. this group was friends so devoted to each other that when Pythia, who had been condemned to death, wanted time to arrange his affairs, Damon pledged his life that his friend would return: Pythias returned & both were pardoned.
There are literally hundreds of societies/orders/religious sects etc. that can be researched – some non-violent, others violent. The Bible mentions many such cultish/occult/religions (see my articles on Canaanite warfare). The Bible lists 7 evil nations in Deut. 7:1: Hittites, Girgashites, Amorites, Canaanites, Perizzites, Hivites, & the Jebusites – “… you shall CONQUER them & UTTERLY DESTROY them!”, vs. 2 Read on as to WHY! vs. 10 speaks of HATE. Vs. 16, again, mentions “destroy ALL of the people… nor shall you serve their gods, for that will be a snare to you.” Vs. 23 says, “… God will deliver them over to you (Israel), & will inflict DEFEAT upon them until they are DESTROYED!” Vs. 26, “you shall not bring an abomination into your house, lest you be DOOMED to DESTRUCTION…” Idolatry was/is an abomination.
Hell on Earth: Hell under the Earth
Same object, “Isn’t there the doctrine of Hell, the ULTIMATE EXCLUSION? Why doesn’t the LORD show absolute hospitality to ALL without exclusion?” God has the right to accept or reject; men do not. The N.T. does give the Call to All”; Islam enthrones violence. Jihad is “Holy War” UNTIL ALL submit to Islam. This is taught in their books.
The Crusades
Critics mention the Crusades (“C” as evidence for the violence of Christianity. We can all agree they were bloody, a tragedy. But do the events actually reflect the essence of Biblical Christianity (N.T.)? One can get lost in the studies available – pros & cons.
My question is simple: “was (or is) violence imbedded in my belief, which is Christianity? I’ve spent years in the Bible, esp. the N.T. to find the answer.
What I have discovered is the lumping together Islamic Jihad & Christianity as two violent forces fighting one another. I find NOTHING obligatory in the N.T. for waging carnal warfare for the individual believer; I do find physical jihad (“struggle”) obligatory for all Muslims – political or military. There is little support for “inner jihad” among Islamic & non-Islamic scholars/historians. (see “offensive, WAR to Spread Islam” where I list dozens of authors/scholars/historians on both sides) So, let us compare Islam with the Crusaders, the “Knights Templar”.

The Crusades, the First, Second, & Third took place between 1095-1192 A.D. There crusaders traveled from Europe to the Holy Land / Jerusalem to fight Islamic forces/Turks etc. The crusaders won!
What happened after the First Crusade in history? [Some dates vary in researching]
200 Years
The Crusades lasted, some say, 200 years They have been criticized as the beginning of “imperialism”. The recapturing of Jerusalem et al cities from Muslim domination was a great victory (1st “C”). Islamic jihad has been ongoing for up to or over 1,400 years. Islam’s (false) prophet, Muhammad’s imperialistic jihad expeditions began more than five hundred years prior to the “Crusades”. While the Qur’an calls Muhammad, the most merciful prophet, his bloody deeds show him to be the exact opposite (see the hadith for his jihad deeds). He had zero mercy for any and all who dared to criticize him (even Muslims). He had them tortured, children beaten, and families burnt alive in their homes, homosexuals and other sexual persons murdered or whipped, hands chopped off thieves etc.
The hadith goes into great detail of how UNmerciful he was. The Qur’an, 5:38 mentions such things. Hadith, vol. 8, bk. 81, Number 779 addresses such terror (as does #780). Vol. 1, bk. 11, #617 speaks of being burnt alive as does #626. There is just too much to mention – obtain the hadith (12 vols.) & read for yourself.
Jesus
Nowhere in the N.T. do we find Jesus, Prophet of Christianity, doing such wicked things. One can see why the Roman Catholics sent Crusaders to liberate Jerusalem from these EVIL Muslims. Jihad began with the sole intent to take Christianized territory never occupied by Islam, to establish the umma (i.e. Islamic community).
Jesus, in whose name the “Crusades” were fought, did not teach or exemplify violence against those who refused His message. No! The earliest disciples/followers/authors of N.T. Scripture did not advocate violence. In its earliest centuries, the politically powerless Christian faith expanded thru deeds of love & communicating the Gospels of Christ, the life-changing “Good News” of the crucified, risen, & glorified Christ.
Muhammad not only preached violence against non-believers but also engaged in it himself in, some estimate, 60 aggressive military campaigns. Very different from Jesus Christ – the Lamb of God who died to redeem fallen humankind.
The Qur’an includes many militant, aggressive texts (some say, 100, others, 110). After Muhammad’s death, the Islamic religion was extended far & wide by & through physical violence! As one would expect, it overran the Christianized nations/areas because true Christianity is a peaceful religion.
Jesus or Muhammad?
I’ve asked this many times: who was the greatest prophet, Jesus or Muhammad? Did you know the Qur’an mentions “Jesus” in the Qur’an more times that Islam’s own prophet? (his name). Western scholar Bernard Lewis summarizes the difference between Islamic jihad & the Crusades – both calling themselves warriors for Holy War. If you want to study this out get his book, The Crisis of Islam: Holy War & Unholy Terror”, 2003, pp. 37-38):
“The Crusade is a late development in Christian history &, in a sense, marks a radical departure from basic Christian values as expressed in the Gospels.” It was the Roman Catholic Popes that promoted them. Lewis continues: “Christendom had been under attack (by Islam) since the 7th century, & had lost vast territories to Muslim rule; the concept of holy war, more commonly a just war, was familiar since antiquity. Yet in the long struggle between Islam & Christendom, the Crusade was late, limited, & of relatively brief duration. Jihad in present from the beginning of Islamic history – in Scripture, in the life of the prophet, & in the actions of his companions & immediate successors. It has continued throughout Islamic history & retains its appeal to the present day.”
This is why I am writing this article – because Islam is raising its UGLY head in America. These Islamic jihadists want to set up their SICK Sharia law all across the nation.
Lewis continues: “The word ‘crusade’ derives of course from the cross [Latin, crux] & originally denoted a holy war for Christianity. But in the Christian world, it has long since lost that meaning… Jihad too is used in a variety of senses, but unlike ‘crusade’ it has retained its original primary meaning.”
Critics are correct when they compare the Crusades or the Inquisition to Islamic Jihad. The Roman Catholic Church had plenty of blood on its hands (ever read Foxe’s Book of Martyrs or The Martyrs Mirror?) Ever study what the Roman Catholic Church did to the natives of South, & North America? (Not called this in those days upon arriving in the “new world”.) The sheer terror & theft! … all in the name of God/Jesus/European Country!!! I don’t think history books tell the real story of ungodly atrocities committed by “civilized Christians”. BLOODY & PAINFUL ATROCITY & theological reigns of TERROR carried out and carried out in Jesus’s name fly in the face of N.T. teachings. Still, we want to gloss over all this bloody history. This is not to say that all Catholics – commons or officials were guilty, but the Church as a whole is.
Q. Did the RCC copy Islamic Jihad when they set out to conquer the New World for Jesus & country? Sure looks like it.
Q. Did the Muslims copy the O.T. wars that Israel carried out in the name of Yahweh? Sure looks like they did. [see Paul Copan’s, “When God Goes to Starbucks” (224 pages; some chapters are about Islamic jihad & Yahweh wars]. While we may compare Yahweh’s O.T. wars with Islamic jihad, there is a big difference. God has the right to punish; man has no right, only to obey if commanded by Yahweh. In the case of Mohammed, he commanded jihad upon all who did not believe in him as God’s last day prophet. If one really examines the Qur’an, one will find contradictions of who spoke to the prophet Many believe he was under demon inspiration upon receiving “revelations” / “instructions”. (1) Dar al-harb vs. (2) Dar al-Islam/Salom keep in mind that Islam has divided our world into 2 realms: (1) “the abode of war” & (2) “the abode of Islam/peace” According to this FALSE & BLOODY religion we are in “the abode of war” where the rule of Islam is extended by WAR! This, we see today. There will be NO dar al-Islam/salom until ALL the world is under & controlled by Islam, where RULER (Islam) rules (non-Muslims), where & when the victor (Islam) enslaves the vanquished (non-Muslims or Muslim converts by FORCE!). (see “The World’s Religions” (4th ed.) by Norman Anderson, 1975, p. 128) (full title = Islam, in The World’s Religions).
As I write this, mayor elect Zohran Mamdani is taking NYC into Marxism/Islamic rule. This Marxist/Muslim is going by the playbook. Pay attention. I have an article written on the dhimmitude, i.e. the condition of Jews/Christians/others (dhimmis) under Shariah law. Take time to read them if you are ignorant of Islam & it’s agenda, [note: a good source to read is “The Myth of Islamic Tolerance”, from Michael Cromartie’s interview with Ye’or, in Books & Culture 4, #5, Sept – Oct. 1998]. Ye’or documents the oppression / open extermination of Christian populations & the disappearance of Eastern Christian culture. You want Islam? If so, expect the very same treatment! [note: Bet Ye’or is a Jewish Egyptian scholar (female)]. This whole PC/Woke BS did not exist before the 20th century. Muslim toleration was created by the stupid West. Bet Ye’or says a whole literature developed praising “Muslim tolerance” toward Jews & Christians. Because of the military strength of the West/Jews, Islam had to tone down their aggressive language /deeds. They now try to woo us into sleepy-bye time while they PLOT & PLAN our destruction. How many “sleeper-cells” do Muslims have in the US today – just watching & waiting to ATTACK! These deceitful/dishonest Muslims prefer, at this time, to have an economically profitable pro-Islamic policy. Sure. Because they don’t have the strength to attack by force, hence “sweet-deceit”.
This is not to say all Muslims are of this evil/deceitful mind set. The radical jihadists are. There are millions of peace-loving, Muslims worldwide there are also many “Christians” (so-called) that are violent, waiting to “take care of the Islam problem!” Sadly, both exist in today’s world. The difference is, the Christian’s Bible never commands the N.T. believers to do violence; on the other hand, the Muslims’ Qur’an & hadith does tell Muslims to Fight/kill/enslave non-Muslims.
Geography
To get a mental picture of the O.T Yahweh Wars & the N.T. times of Islam’s Allah’s Wars, we must consider geography. War was geographically limited to the Promise Land in the Yahweh War (YW). In Allah’s War (AW) there are (past/present/future) no geographic limitations to jihad – we are, according to Islam, in the dar al-harb mode, i.e., “the abode of war”.
Along with geography, we must consider historical length/limit. The Bible tells us that Yahweh’s War was limited (primarily) to one generation (see Joshua), though minor conflicts continued with anti-God / anti-Israel enemies, but never was this WAR to continue forever. In Islam, WAR will continue until ALL of the world is Islamic. Their books teach this.
Now we must consider war’s objects/goals. Yahweh’s War was to STOP/punish a gross idol worshipping, hopelessly corrupted culture (morally, ethically, physically, theologically etc.), not because they (the “ites” in the land) were not Israelites or were not Yahweh worshippers. No! Their punishment came after a period of several hundred years when the Canaanite’s SIN had fully matured (Gen. 15:16 is example).
Islam, on the other hand, object of WAR was/is directed toward ALL non-Muslims. This WAR will continue to the END.
When we speak of “love”, is there such a thing in Israel /Christian /Islam? God blesses those whom He loves & curses them who curses His people (see Gen. 12:3). But, because humanity is God’s creation, He desires to free them from sin & Satan. His redemptive plan through Jesus Christ’s death and resurrection, encompasses the traditional enemies of Israel (Babylon, Assyria, Egypt et al.) & incorporates them into the people of faith/God. Nowhere do we find God FORCING any people/nations to accept Him OR ELSE!!! Islam is guilty of this. In fact the Bible says in 2 Peter 3:9, “The Lord… is long suffering toward us, NOT WILLING that ANY should PERISH but that ALL should come to repentance.” (ee Ezek. 18:23 = “Do I have any pleasure at all that the wicked should die?’ says the Lord GOD, ‘and not that he should turn from his (evil) ways & live?’” (read vss. 24-32. Vs. 32 sums up the whole discourse: “For I have no pleasure in the death of one who dies’, says the Lord GOD. ‘Therefore TURN & LIVE!”
God gives man/woman CHOICE to live or die. He does not force them either way. If men choose to reject the eternal salvation God provides through Jesus Christ, an eternal abode is already prepared for them. God’s desire is that they ALL would REPENT & be CONVERTED (see Mt. 3:2; 4:17; Acts 2:38; 3:19; 8:22; 17:30; 26:20; Rev. 2:5, 16, 21, 22; 3:3, 19 et al.). You see, God’s compassion can & will run out (see “longsuffering of God). God’s moral/holy/divine nature demands justice & punishment. All nations of the world have laws and punishments. Why do we think God does not?
Yahweh’s Plan / Allah’s Plan
These are in contrast. I have written articles on these two Rulers.
Both Christianity & Islam are played out in A.D. The Messiah’s Kingdom is to be characterized by peace (see Isa. 9:6; 11:1-10). Jesus is called by Isaiah “Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace” WOW! These LOFTY titles & qualities of the divinely endowed King follow; they are 4, so that the comma between Wonderful & Counselor (KJV) is a mistake, so scholars say. The first 2 declare that the king participates in the divine attributes of wisdom & might, whole the 3rd & 4th proclaim the nature of His rule. Wonderful Counselor, i.e. the supreme fount of wisdom or “Wonderful in Purpose” (see 14:24). “Mighty God” = “Divine in might”. “Everlasting Father” = “A Father forever” or “Time’s Father” (as I believe), since it is not the King’s continued existence but His constant care for His children-in-time. All believers are His children, (in time upon earth). Since Jesus has children, He naturally is their Father in time. “Prince of Peace” or “Prince beneficent”. This last phrase in the KJV/RSV has become universally known as Jesus (epithet):
2 things about Jesus’ “peace”:
1) Mt. 10 :34: “Do not think that I came to bring PEACE on earth. I did not come to bring PEACE but a SWORD.” What? A “SWORD”?!
2) Lk. 2:14: “Glory to God in the highest, & on earth PEACE, good will toward men!’ (“toward men of goodwill). Are we finding a glaring contradiction here?
First, the “sword” is not like Islam’s “sword of steel”, Jesus’ sword is His Word!, “Sword of the Spirit” Mt. 10:35 explains this – His word/Spirit will “set at variance”, i.e. separate. His SWORD brought persecution/prosecution/prison/death for those of his fold. It also brought death to those who rejected Him example). The “Prince of Peace” brought His Word of the Word/Spirit to divide/separate the precious from the vile.
You see, Jesus regarded His TRUTH as more important than temporary harmony in the family/community (10:34). Only the Kingdom of God was/is ultimate (6:33)
Choose! This is what it comes down to: Ordinary men/women must either oppose the “Prince of Peace” or – at great cost to themselves – accept His New World Order! There is NO justification for using the “Sword of Steel”. Islam does this. Rev. 1:16 depicts a SWORD coming out of the mouth of the “Prince of Peace”, now, “Lion out of Judah” – Pathetic or ironic, Jesus comes to SEPARATE the wheat from weeds, good from evil, believers from unbelievers – in the END.
As Far as the Military goes…
I’m 100 percent behind taking care of cartel/gangs by FORCE! Mexico needs a cleansing! The cartels have sent in poisonous drugs, killed hundreds of thousands of Americans over the years. Same goes for Venezuela (in which we’ve been to both countries doing Christian work – Mexico, we lived for awhile). Let the U.S. Military TAKE OUT these evil cartel members. The U.S. gov. has every right to protect the U.S. from these cartels/gangs.
Fulfilling God’s/Allah’s Plan
The ultimate plan for Jesus was to give His life: “For even the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, & to GIVE HIS LIFE a ransom for many.”– Mk. 10:45 (see also 2 Cor. 5:21; 1 Tim. 2:5, 6; Tit. 2:14).
Q. Did Muhammed do this?
Ransom: Gk. Lutron/ λύτρον), lit., a means of loosing, occurs freq. in the LXX / O.T. Gk., where it is always used to signify equivalence. Thus it is used of the ransom for a life, e.g., Ex. 21:30; Lev. 19:20; the price of a captive, e.g., Isa. 45:13. In the N.T. it occurs in Mt. 20:28 & Mk. 10:45. the ultimate necessity which has made the whole course of things what it has been, as some believe.
The Bible teaches that Christ, not Muhammed, gave up His life in expiatory sacrifice, hence, redeeming fallen/sinful man from eternal damnation – if the victim chooses to be free! The “many”, not the “all” in Mk. 10:45 stresses the point that not “all” will meet God’s condition, repentance – only the “many” will.
1 Tim. 2:5, 6 uses another Gk. word – Antilutron/ἀντίλυτρον: “For there is one God & one mediator between God & men, the Man Christ Jesus, who gave Himself a ransom for all, to be testified in due time.” While Jesus gave Himself for ALL, like in Jn. 3:16, not ALL will repent & accept His Eternal Life that they may be redeemed/ransomed from eternal death/hell.
Could Muhammed redeem anyone? The second thing Jesus came to do was to DESTROY the works of the devil – 1 Jn 3:8. Did the prophet of Islam do this? The fact is, he was under the control of the devil!
It is said, and I totally agree, Muhammad’s military aggression is viewed by many Muslims as normative (which sets back the clock of time on what Jesus came to fulfill, undermining the LORD’s ultimate purposes). As traditionally understood, the Quran’s “tolerant” verses are earlier & thus outweighed by the late more violent ones. I have articles about this written in our BCS mags. & 2 Faces of Islam mags, e.g., Abrogator/Abrogated in the Qur’an: Surah 2:106 for example:
“Such of our revelation as we abrogate or cause to be forgotten, we bring (in place) one better or the like thereof.” There are many Islamic scholars that have commented on 2:106 – the Jalalon, the Baydawi, the Zamakh-Shari, Dr. Shalabi, Asbab al-Nuzul, Ibn’ Abbas, ‘Umar, et al. most Muslims will recognize these names. There are whole books committed to explaining why the Mecca surahs (peaceful) were abrogated, replaced with the Medina surahs (war).
Muhammad started out preaching a “peaceful” / “Jesus-like” message but later turned to preaching “jihad” – the killing of all who refused to bow to him or Islam.
This is true history.
The question asked: “Does religion cause violence?” Well, depends on what religion.
Islam has its own Arabic morality – see what it has done? Men’s morality, i.e. secular morality causes moral chaos? There are plenty of “moral” atheists & many immoral religious devotees. There are good & “moral” people in the LGBTQ plus movement, but are they with God’s morality?, since He & His Word condemns such people & ACTIONS. Some believe Satan & demons to be moral/good! Yep! I talked to some that believe this. The prevailing thought in today’s PC/Woke camp is: people can be moral without believing in God. True, if “moral” means the secular kind, not the Divine kind.
The Roman Catholics once believed they were “moral” when they put the heretics to death – Protestants who were Biblically correct. The Muslims also believe they are moral in their terrorism/killing. And, the Crusaders who fought the Muslims thought they were moral as well. The Crusaders (under Popes) were religiously motivated, but many others had worldly aims & hoped to capture land & loot & open new trading opportunities in the Middle East. The same goes for the Catholics (& some Protestants) who invaded North, Central, & South America (now called) in search of Gold & land. Human life to them was not worth sparing if it stood in the way of taking land & riches.
Over Time
There is no way to count all the souls either killed in battle (for whatever reasons) or murdered by religious crazies. All one can do is seek peace & live Biblically the best one can. This does not mean that we become a passive “do nothing”. No! As Christians we are called to “fight the good fight of faith” – 1 Tim. 6:12; “wage the good warfare” – 1 Tim. 1:18. We do this in the name of Jesus.
If we feel anger rising up because of injustices etc., realize ANGER CARES. This is proven by what happened in a synagogue on the Sabbath, with Jesus in attendance. There was a man who had a withered hand. Jesus had compassion & asked the cripple to step forward. Jesus knew the “religious” Jews were watching to see if this rebel would heal on the Sabbath, Mark 3:1-4. Verse 5 says:
“And when He had looked around at them WITH ANGER!, being grieved by their hardness of their hearts, He said to the man, ‘stretch out your hand’…” So, you see, certain kinds of anger care! The anger the “religious” had was Satanic, not godly. How so? “Then the Pharisees went out & immediately plotted with the Herodians against Him, how they might DESTROY Him”, vs.6.
“Be angry & sin not” Paul wrote (Eph. 4:26). He followed up with, “let not the sun go down on your wrath”, vs. 26. Seems like the two oppose one another. The Gk. word for “angry” is orgizō, to provoke or enrage, become exasperated, wrath, from orgē, violent passion, [or justifiable] abhorrence, indignation, vengeance, wrath. The Greek says anger or angry can be forbidden or justifiable. This same Gk. word is used in Mt. 5:22; Lk. 14:21; 15:28; Rev. 11:18; Tit. 1:7. There is one other Gk. word for “angry” found in John 7:23, cholaō, to be bilious, i.e., irritable. [note: there are several O.T. Hebrew words used for “angry”: There are many, many O.T. Scriptures that use the word “anger”. Paul instructs the Christians to “Let all bitterness, wrath, ANGER, quarreling, & evil speaking be put from you, with all malice,” Eph. 4:31. Looking at Eph. 4, verses 26 & 31, we summarize that Paul is instructing the Believers to (vs. 25) to watch how they treat one another. Vs. 32 tell us this: “Be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God in Christ forgave you.”
I said all this to say, Islam does not show this kind of forgiveness /mercy. Their (Muslims) anger towards Christians, Jews, & pagans demand. While they use the words forgiving & merciful, to get Forgiveness and Mercy one must BOW to Islam or else! (“Then, when the sacred months have passed, SLAY the idolaters wherever ye find them, & take them (captive), besiege them, & prepare for them each ambush. But if they REPENT & ESTABLISH worship & PAY the poor-due, then leave their way free. Lo! Allah is Forgiving, Merciful.” – Surah 9:5. The message of Muhammad is clear: CONVERT to Islam or be MURDERED!; your choice. I have written on this Surah before.
Q. Does not one have to have “anger” in one’s heart before one MURDERS! I’m not speaking of killing in line of duty (as in war etc.), but personally. Islam tells us who should live & who should die.
Here is another golden nugget:
“Fight against such of those who have been given the Scriptures as believe not in Allah nor the Last Day, & forbid not that which Allah hath forbidden by His messenger, & follow not the Religion of Truth, until they pay the tribute readily, being brought low” – Surah 9:29

Surah 5:33 states: “The only reward of those who make war upon Allah & His Messenger & strive after corruption in the land will be that they will be KILLED or CRUCIFIED, as have their hands & feet on alternate sides cut off, or will be expelled out of the land. Such will be their degradation in the world, & in the Hereafter theirs will be an awful doom” Still want Islam in America? Surah 8:12: “When thy Lord inspired the angels, (saying): ‘I am with you. So make those who believe stand firm I will throw fear into the hearts of those who disbelieve. Then SMITE the necks & SMITE of them each finger.” The Abdullah Yusuf Ali trans. reads: “I will instill TERROR into the hearts of the unbelievers: SMITE ye above their necks & SMITE all their finger-tips off them”. In short, BEHEAD all those who do not believe in Islam. These acts of violence are still being done today!
Ali has a footnote (#1189) that says: “The vulnerable parts of an armed man are above the neck.” But Muslims do this to unarmed men & women (Christians in Nigeria today get this treatment!). If 8:12 only relates to warfare, why do innocent victims die this way too? Vs. 13 says this punishment is because the unbelievers contended against God & his (false) apostle. The Qur’an does not stop here, “… for those who resist God (Ali uses God & not Allah), is the penalty of the Fire”, vs. 14. Vs. 15 also mentions “Hell” “… and his abode is Hell, – an evil refuge (indeed)!”
Paradise? Yes! According to S. 9:11, those who fight & kill or be slain for Allah will be taken to Paradise! Ibn Ishaq, Siratul Rasul, 5:553 states: “The Apostle of Allah said, ‘kill any Jew that falls into your power.”
In the hadith, Bukhari vol. 4, Bk. 52, number 176 narrated ‘Abdullah bin ‘Umar: Allah’s apostle said, “You (i.e. Muslims) will fight with the Jews till some of them will hide behind stones. The stones will (betray them) saying, ‘o ‘Abdullah (i.e. slave of Allah)! There is a Jew hiding behind me; so kill him.’” WOW! Rocks speak???
[note: Ali’s trans. of the Qur’an has an index: A-Z, which helps in finding subjects & where to read about them, e.g. p. 1824 under “Fighting”, he lists a number Surahs/verses. Remember, the earlier Surahs received at Mecca, when the prophet first was called, he wrote those “peace” surahs; later, while at Medina, the peaceful ones were abrogated, replaced with war/violent surahs. Muhammad spent the early part of his life (13 years) trying to convince the Jews/Christians that he was the FINAL PROPHET of God/Allah. Upon rejection he made it his goal in life to punish/kill all who rejected his (false) claim.
Hitler had the same hatred/anger towards the Jews. Consider the following: “The Ten Commandments have lost their validity. Conscience is a Jewish invention; it is a blemish like circumcision.” – Rauschning, Hitler Speaks, p. 220 – “If only one country, for whatever reason, tolerates a Jewish family in it, that family will become the germ center for fresh sedition. If one little Jewish boy survives without any Jewish education, with no synagogue and no Hebrew school, it [Judaism] is in his soul. Even if there had never been a synagogue or a Jewish school or an Old Testament, the Jewish spirit would still exist and exert its influence. It has been there from the beginning and there is no Jew, not a single one, who does not personify it.” – Robert Wistrich, Hitler’s Apocalypse, p. 122; from a conversation with Croation Foreign Minister General Kvaternik, July 21, 1941.

Just as Hitler demonized the Jews and called for their destruction in Mein Kampf so to All (the AntiGod) dehumanized the Jews and demanded their total destruction in the Qur’an.
But what of Hitler and the German SS robbing and looting the property of murdered Jews. When Hitler came to power, Jewish businesses, bank accounts and property were confiscated. Everything was seized from expensive paintings to exclusive furniture. Jewish women and children were stripped of their clothing, forced into slavery, and after slaughter in the ovens – gold teeth were extracted from their burnt out skulls. At the concentration camps Jewish women were raped and gang raped by the SS guards.
Hitler was a brutal killer who showed absolutely no mercy to his Jewish victims. He and his SS murdered all Jews equally no matter their age or sex. 7-month-old Jewish babies were pulled from their mother’s arms and head smashed into the ground. 7 months, 7 years, 17 years, 14, 21,51, 77, it didn’t matter. All were forced to strip naked, march to dug out graves and stand at attention while SS executioners placed a gun to the back of their heads and blew their brains out. There was no mercy.
The author of “God of Moral Perfection” says this (mocks) about Hitler & Muhammad: “How dare we compare Hitler – a monster of history with the Prophet Muhammad, the Apostle of Peace, the Prophet of God. The protype of human perfection. The most merciful man who ever existed?”

The Truth
Allah is not God but the AntiGod of the Muslims. Islam’s prophet is not God’s prophet but Satan’s god. He is no Christ but the Anti-Christ. Islam is not a peaceful religion but an EVIL ideology akin to Nazism/Marxism. The Qur’an is not the Holy Bible but the Islamic Mein’kamph, the Communist Manifesto. Islam is Anti God, the total & complete renunciation of the Holy, Divine God. Jesus IS the LAST DAY Prophet, not Muhammad. Islam is all about men; little about women. Islam masquerades as the TRUE RELIGION for humankind; this is delusional. Among the many surahs/verses which exhort Islamist terrorism, the following verses stand out as NAKED AGGRESSION: 2:63; 3:151; 8:12; 8:59,60; 9:5; 9:29; 9:55; 11:102; 17:59 et al. These are considered the eternal laws of Allah (the Anti-God) authorization of MURDER & EXTERMINATION as a “holy duty”.
Bukhari 8:387 says: “I have been ordered to fight the people till they say: ‘none has the right to be worshipped but Allah.’ And if they say so, pray like our prayers, face our Qibla & SLAUGHTER as we SLAUGHTER, then their blood & property will be sacred to us & we will not interfere with them…”
