Pt. 1
Yes! He is coming back. When? I do not know. What I do know is what God’s Word says: “Now when He (Jesus) had spoken these things, while they (His disciples) watched, He was taken up, & a cloud received Him out of their sight. And while they looked steadfastly toward heaven as He went up, behold, two men stood by them in white apparel, who also said, ‘Men of Galilee, why do you stand gazing up into heaven? This same Jesus, who was taken up from you into heaven, WILL SO COME in like manner…” – Acts 1:9-11, NKJV.
Since He WILL COME AGAIN, should we not “get ready”? It matters not when but for sure. This study will be about getting ready; followed by a prophetic Word given to us from the LORD.
Countless sermons have been given on the “Coming of the Lord”. Some given to tell the world to GET READY… given out of a concerned heart; others given to get $$ from the people etc.
2 Peter 1:16
“For we did not follow cunningly devised fables when we made known to you the power & coming of our Lord Jesus Christ…”
2 Peter 3:4
Peter addresses the scoffers (vs.3) who say, “Where is the promise of His coming? For since the fathers fell asleep (died), all things continue as they were from the beginning of creation” Peter answers with, “The Lord is not slack concerning His promise… but is longsuffering towards us, not willing that any should perish but that all should come to repentance,” vs.9. Peter furthermore tells us about dreadful things will accompany Jesus’ coming, vs.10. He then tells us, “Therefore, since all these things will be dissolved, what manner of persons ought you to be in holy conduct & godliness (vs.11), looking for & hastening the COMING of the day of God…” (vs.12).
Peter finishes his sermon with, “you therefore… since you know this beforehand, BEWARE lest you also FALL from your own steadfastness, being LED AWAY with the ERROR of the wicked,” vs.17. How many in our generation have fallen away because Jesus did not appear? I know dozens and dozens.
Back to Acts 1:9-11
Some in church la la land do not believe Jesus ascended up into heaven. One would suppose then an opinion of this kind could hardly ever obtain credit among professing Christians. The truth was & is, Jesus IS COMING BACK because He went away: He will come again in bodily form (yet changed) He will descend from His place with His Father, the Holy angels, and the redeemed who are in the Spirit… descending from that Divine place to earth with His sovereign & all-controlling power. Will we be READY to meet Him at His coming (if He comes in our life time)?
Literally or Figuratively?
Acts 1:9 may be understood metaphorically; but the spiritual reality could not be better conveyed pictorially to Luke’s readers. The ancient prophet, Daniel, spoke/wrote: “I was watching in the night visions, and behold, One like the Son of Man coming with the clouds of heaven…” Dan. 7:13 The “clouds” are not these fluffy clouds we see, but resurrected saints of God in Heaven, i.e. cloud of witnesses (see 1 Thes. 4:16,17. Some take these verses to mean the “Rapture”, but this is an error (see my Rapture teachings posted on AggressiveChristianity.Net).
The cloud in the O.T. that hides God from view was the Shekinah or Divine glory, not a physical cloud of vapor.
John. 16:7
Jesus tells His disciples, “… It is to your advantage that I go away; for if I do not go away, the Helper will not come to you; but if I depart, I will send Him to you.” Jesus was referring to the Holy Ghost or Holy Spirit.
Jesus came the first time. He went away. He will come again the second time. Will we be ready to meet Him at His coming? (look up the word “coming”, which Scripture uses many times in ref. to Jesus’ coming again).
Jesus, in Spirit, is with us now. Yep! Paul wrote “that Christ may dwell in your (believers) hearts (spirit) through faith…” -Eph. 3:17. If you have been born-again (Jn. 3:3,5), then you have Jesus in your heart, along with the Father & Holy Spirit.
John 14:23: “Jesus answered & said to him (Judas, not Iscariot), “If anyone love Me, he will keep My Word; & My Father will love him, & WE will come to him & make Our abode (home) with him.” If one is born-again, they already have the Holy Spirit: it is He who quickens our spirits, i.e., makes our dead spirit ALIVE! The KJV has the word “abode” (Jn. 14:23); some versions have “home”, “dwelling”.
How Did Jesus Go Away?
After His physical death, He arose again to life – He had a resurrected body. He was Spirit. When He ascended up into Heaven (a word picture), His body was a Spirit body. When He comes again, He will come with the same Glorified/Spirit body He left earth with. The disciples watched the skies for His coming, but he was not, in not coming as we suppose. His coming will be Spiritual. I can’t explain this. If He was to come back to the spot where He ascended, how will saints all over the world see His return? I’ve read all kinds of takes on this “coming”.
Revelations 1:7
What are we to make of Rev. 1:7? “Behold, He is COMING with clouds, & EVERY EYE will see Him…”
“Every eye”? John wrote this in the present tense instead of the future tense. The early Church anticipated Jesus’ return in their lifetime. The “coming” has been interpreted & reinterpreted, each time adapting them to their urgent message & ardent expectations.
Let me be clear; I have no interpretation of my own. I’m no Bible theologian/expert/scholar. I am a seeker of truth. But I do believe Jesus is “coming again”, will we be ready?
Pt. 2
Christians worldwide are looking for the return of Christ. Even many of the world’s people take the Bible to be believed (but they have not given their lives for His service… yet!). Each generation believes their generation will be THE ONE in which Jesus returns.
As I write this, the world is in a nasty, hostile mood: wars, revolutions, take overs, planned take overs are in the news daily, America is at WAR with the cartels/gangs. The dems /woke-ites /lefties et al. are at war with the Trump admin. And so it goes. We are in a DARK time universally. In a hostile world when life is cheap, multitudes are hopeless. Multitudes on the other hand are waking up for hope, not dope!
There is WOKE & there is AWAKE. I do not know how every eye will see Jesus at His coming. Maybe the eyes of AWARENESS? There is no escaping it; the world is AWARE of the hostility. We, who are of the born-again camp, we have & see through eyes of faith. God’s Word does speak of dire warnings of things to come. Yet, how many are not ready for the fulfillment of such things to come? Both the Church & the world are aware of what Jesus spoke in Mt. 24.
The world has made movies about THE END! Matt. 24 is a WAKE-UP call. Even though some things have come to pass, others are waiting to happen. Apostasy, believe it or not, is on the rise. Why so, since time is running out. Some things Jesus spoke of were going to happen in the near future; others, in the distant future. The question, “… when shall these things be? & what shall be the sign of Thy coming, & of the END of the world?” – Mt. 24:3
These questions have been asked ever since that time: WHEN, WHAT? I don’t write much on the apocalyptic future. I believe all things will come to pass in God’s time. The “date setting” is a mistake.
Matthew 24 has given multitudes BAD dreams, HEART BURN!! This is why so many want to believe in a pre-trib. rapture (see my articles), it offers them some hope; but it is a false hope.
“For as the lightning cometh out of the east, & shineth even unto the west; so shall also the COMING of the Son of man be.” vs.27. This COMING will not be a “secret rapture”, but a public event for all to see. The picture language of “lightning” speaks of some immense cosmic flash – Universal! Just as a lightning show lays bare a whole landscape in an instant, so will the coming be. Lightning in ancient days was considered a mysterious power. Did Matthew have this in mind when he used the word “lightning”?… a visitation of God?
Pt. 3
Ready
There are 2 adjectives, 3 verbs, & 1 adverb: Adj., Gk.
(1) Hetoimos, meaning, “prepared” (akin to hetoimasia, preparation), is used (a) of persons, e.g., Mt. 24:44: “Therefore be ye also READY: for in such an hour as ye think not the Son of man cometh.”, KJV; see also Mt. 25:10; Lk. 12:40; 22:33; Acts 23:15,21; Tit. 3:1; 1 Pet. 3:15; (b) of things, e.g., Mt. 22:4 (2nd part), 8; Mk. 14:15 (another trans. has “prepared”); Lk. 14:17; Jn. 7:6; 2 Cor. 9:5; 10:16 = “things ready” or “things made ready”; 1 Pet. 1:5 (see also “Prepare”);
(2) Prothumos, “predisposed, willing (akin to “prothumia”, “readiness”). Romans 1:15 says “I (Paul) am ready to preach the gospel…”, expressive of willingness, eagerness; in Mark 14:38 says, “… The spirit truly is ready but the flesh is weak.”
Beware of the “flesh”, it is lazy towards the things of God!
In Mt. 26:41 the word “willing” is used (KJV);
Verbs (1) Mellō, “to be about to”, is translated “be ready” in the Amp. Bible, where the future indicates that the Apostle will be “prepared”, as in the past & the present, to remind his readers of the truths they know (some mss. have ouk amelēlō (2 Pet. 1:12), “I will not be negligent.” In Rev. 3:2 speaks of “the things which remain, that are ready to die…” KJV, the present tense. Other translations have “to be ready”. Lk. 7:2 has “… ready to die” (KJV);
(2) Hetoimazō, “make ready” “prepare”
(3) Paraskeuazō, “to prepare, make ready”;
(1) Adverb: Hetoimōs, lit., “to have readily”, i.e., “to be in readiness, to be ready. Acts 21:13, Paul says, “for I am ready not to be bound only, but also to die.” That dear ones is dedication first class!!
So…
So we see being ready has many meanings. To “Get Ready” means, in the context I am writing about, prepare yourself /ourselves for His coming. “Get Ready & Stay Ready” to meet & greet the Lord each day (as we live out our Christian lives).
Readiness
Let me address this word also:
(1) Prothumia, “eagerness, willingness, readiness” (pro, forward, thumos, mind, disposition (akin to prothumos, ready, adj.). Paul in 2 Cor. 8:11 wrote: “Now therefore perform the doing of it; that as there was a readiness to will, so there may be a performance also out of that which ye have,” -KJV.
Another translation reads: “So that your readiness in desiring it may be matched by your completing it out of what you have.” He goes on in vs. 12 saying, “For if the readiness in there, it is acceptable according to what a man has, not according to what he has not.” Paul is writing about giving relief to the needy… to give out of the right motive.
The basic thing is the voluntary readiness. Their own decision to complete the giving comes first; Paul is confident that once the Ekklesia at Corinth renew that earlier decision, the work will be finished. Given that readiness, the $$ gift that is according to what a man or woman has is acceptable to the Lord.
The same principle applies to our subject: we willingly gave our hearts to the Lord: are we still willing to “get & stay ready” for His coming – which ever comes first, our death or His coming to earth again. Do we have a “ready” mind?;
(2) Hetoimos (an adj.), is used with echō, “to have, & en, in, idiomatically, as a noun, in 2 Cor. 10:6: “And having in a readiness to revenge all disobedience, when your obedience is fulfilled.” – 2 Cor. 10:6
Two groups are in mind here. 1) the Church at Corinth was divided; some were siding with the agitators who oppose the Aposlte; 2) the obedient to Paul.
This same “spirit” is in today’s Church: those who downplay the sin issue (like the LBGTQ plus) & the ones who try to live godly. If one dares to revenge the disobedient, get ready for ONE HELL of a FIGHT! The disobedient will do everything outside of murder to keep their “Christian” sin-life alive. Paul is saying we cannot revenge (punish) the disobedient if we are disobedient. Duh! Paul is ready to deal with rebels if & when the obedient wholly accept his godly authority. A minister can deal with a recalcitrant minority only when he has the loyal backing of a faithful group. We’ve been in Churches where a terrible split had happened. Not nice!
We might ask ourselves, “Am I ready to stand firm till the end?”
WOS – PEOPLE GET READY
I speak unto you this day and I say most emphatically, “People Get Ready” for as did John the Baptist came preaching for people to be baptized unto Repentance to get Ready for the coming of JESUS so it is Now! There are far too many who are doing evil deeds while they are claiming to be “Christians” but their deeds are not proving them to be Christians at all.
Rather these ones are not Ready to be taken in death as they could well be, while they imagine they are fine, they are lying to themselves. So many in these times, both saints and sinners have been contaminated by the corruption of the National and State Leaders full of vice. Many have taken on the ugliness of such dictates of wickedness and have acted out in ways that completely violate My Standards of Conduct for My People.
By such choices to do as the ungodly dictators have declared to be “Law” many of those who have claimed to be “Christian” have totally gone off track and will end up depressed, devoured, and damned if they don’t stop. This means they must cease the vile and reprobate behaviors they have succumbed to and REPENT and RETURN TO RIGHTEOUSNESS.
Those who hear and obey the Call to Get Ready will be found acceptable if I choose to take them by death. The ones who hear the Call and refuse to repent by changing their conduct governed by their wicked carnality will die and be damned because they heard but refused to obey. Consequently they were damned because they did not want My Way, they wanted their own way and such has proven to be the sentence of Hell forever.
Truly it is tragic how many people there are on earth who go to Hell forever and there is no way out for them. No priest can, no matter how much they are paid, “pray them out of hell.” This is because they choose what they are now imprisoned in which is the chambers of Hell. Therefore if you or your loved ones need to Repent and Get Ready, do not put it off and act as though you have a long time left to sin till you are ready to die then Repent. With the calamities, disasters, adverse weather changes, wars, and invasions that transpire on earth, no one can really dictate how long they will be around. Therefore when you see the ones who imagine they will live forever, know they are fools to believe such. Everyone comes to the end of their lives and if they have not Gotten Ready they will perish by their own spiritual slothfulness and unwillingness to cooperate.
Those who are in the “Bad Attitude Brigade” imagine they can live as they want to, do what they want to, and claim they have their own thing going with JESUS while they live in sin are absolute fools. These make it their practice to have plenty to complain about without ever stopping to thank Me for anything even the tongues they have to complain. I do not find any pleasure in these whatsoever because they are refusing to “Get Ready” and are going die and be damned. Then in Hell they will blame everyone who never gave them warning, they will blame Me because they are in the fires of Hell. There will be no end to their blame and they will be forced to see they are the ones to blame and no matter who they accuse, they chose to lose out with Me because they refused to “Get Ready”.
Inasmuch as there is not one person who knows how or when their lives will be taken by death and the ones who are wise will “Get Ready and Stay Ready” to meet Me each day. They will not be as the slothful, lazy dogs who lying down loving to slumber thinking they can put off until tomorrow what they should do today. No, they will understand that Today is the Day of Salvation and likewise those who Endure till the End, the Same shall be Saved. These are a joy to Me because they take seriously where they will spend Eternity and do not play games nor try to blame others for their own choices because their choices will be for Me, My Son, and the Holy Spirit. They will be in service to Me because they Love Me and want to spend Eternity in My Kingdom and not in Hell with the damned.
Each day, let the Holy Spirit search your hearts and if there are any areas where you are not right with Me, yield such up and repent of whatever you are shown. Which means essentially, you drop your pride and get in stride with following in the steps of JESUS every day and in every way the Spirit leads you. Don’t be as the ones who put off Repentance until it is too late and they stand at the Gates of Hell, rather than Heaven. The Gates of Hell open up very wide to accommodate those who are destined to damnation forever locked in the place of no return.
There are no refunds on the one way tickets to Hell and the only way to Get off the Fast Train to Hell is to leap from the train, cry out in Repentance and Sorrow for the pride which put them on the ride. Consider how much wiser it is to be prepared and stay that way being in Right Standing with Me as your Father. Do not take the risk of being a prodigal when you know better. There is no reason to be wasting your inheritance on the vanities of the world. Keep yourselves in line and keep marching onward in the Narrow way which leads to Eternal Life in Me. As Warriors for the Return to Righteousness Revolution be fitting and keeping fit by exhibiting excellence of conduct. Yes, you can do what I want if you will your will to My Will and obey each day, you’ll enter the Gates of Heaven. Rejoice!
