We are in a time when the wind of God is blowing… wanting God’s people to “go with the flow”. At the same time, we have the foul winds of Satan blowing up a “Stinking Storm of destruction”. The Church that is supposed to be built upon the Rock is crumbling… crumbling under the weight of SIN! She, the Church, has capitulated to the winds of every kind of false doctrine, to cunning craftiness & deceit (see Eph. 4:14).
God’s Wind Blowing upon both Saint & Sinner
We tend to think that God lives only to “bless us!” Bless us with prosperity, peace & good will… while lost souls all around us go to Hell! I know this is not the attitude of all who profess the Christian religion, but far too many do not care for the LOST. In fact, to be “Biblically Correct”, didn’t Jesus give His last earthly command concerning the lost, “GO therefore & make disciples of ALL the nations…” – Mt. 28:19. He never told the Church to grow BIG & FAT & have lots of riches.
Spiritual Inertia
I recall what Isaiah wrote: “Let favor be shown to the wicked, yet will he not learn righteousness: in the land of uprightness will he deal unjustly, & will not behold the majesty of the LORD.” – Isa. 26:10 While the LORD does show favor to the wicked (He did to me!), many wicked will not repent. But we are to show them the WAY of LORD despite whether they accept salvation or not.
Verse 10 specifically mentions the insensibility of the wicked; it suggests a danger to which we are all exposed, vis., the damning effect of material prosperity, we cannot deny this “demon”, for it has infected so many, too many, churches in this generation.
And, may we see that it is not the wicked only who fail to learn righteousness when favor is shown to them. A high standard of living always tends to make people complacent, both saint & sinner. There is nothing like the spiritual inertia of a complacent people. Even in politics people grow lazy, fat, & full. But these days God’s Spirit is blowing upon the land, calling for a “spiritual revolution”, a social reform, a “repentance revolution”. Woke? Yeah, we are literally sick of this social BS! We need a real God – sent WAKE UP!!! It obviously will take an internal WAR or a depression to get America woke up!
Isaiah 26:16-18
The prophet says that the people poured out prayer when God’s chastening was upon the people. Isaiah 26, verse 19 uses the word “Awake”, Hebrew, “qûwts”, a prim. root, “abruptness” (lit. or fig.), “arise”, “wake up & watch”.
Brought forth Wind
Isaiah says in vs. 18, “we have (Israel) been with child, we have been in pain, we have as it were brought forth wind; we have not wrought any deliverance in the earth; neither have the inhabitants of the world fallen.” One Gk./Heb. prof. explains this image in quoting Syntagma comment., vol. 2, p. 165: “The pneumatosis, or windy inflation of the womb, is a disorder to which females are liable. Some have had this in such wise, for a long time together, that they have appeared to themselves, & even to very skillful medical men, to be pregnant; & after having endured much pain, even the throes of apparent child bearing, they have been eased & restored to health by the emission of a great quantity of wind from the uterus. I personally have seen this as well as having been involved in the delivery of 19 babies (alongside my wife). [That long quote above was written in Greek & trans. into Eng.]
Hosea 8:7
“For they have sown the wind, & they shall reap the whirlwind…”
Those who sow the seed of un-righteousness shall reap a great harvest of destruction. (a metaphor)
The winds of God are blowing across the face of our planet. There are revivals breaking out in many lands among the Jews, Muslims & other religions. But at the same time there is a worldwide ERUPTION of INFERNAL powers of death & destruction, moral chaos seeking to undermine what God wants to do – Get the LOST SAVED & get the “saved” to walk in righteousness. There is at this time – and we all know it! – a disquietingly high incidence of DEFECTION from the Universal Church of the Lord Jesus.
Oh, the numbers don’t tell us, some Churches have thousands on the rolls but few actually living the life. Sadly, many who were once a “Christian” have switched over to other cults/religions. Islam has gained many from Protestant/Roman Catholic churches. Why? This movement has imparted a euphoria within false religions/cults. But, on the other hand, a huge movement OUT of false religions/cults is ongoing NOW! The Islamization of the Western hemisphere is growing but so is the Christian movement among the Muslims.
The winds of revival & revolution are blowing – some destructive; some constructive. There is a ground swell of interest in our Lord Jesus on part of the non-Christian masses in general. There is the religious nationalism also – “love your country”. Sadly, this nation – USA – has millions in it that literally HATE America & try their (wicked) best to bring an end to it. They, seem like, want to establish Socialism/Marxism/Communism. Well, study the results where these demonic ideologies ruled & you’ll discover something real BAD!
One former Muslim once said, “despite the upsurge of religious nationalism in certain areas, the predominant religions have not succeeded in satisfying the spiritual hunger & Messianic expectations of the thoughtful & morally sensitive. To such, in particular, the appeal of the teaching, life & Gospel of Jesus Christ is great. In this context, the Muslims are an interesting case… Muslims…. are excited about Him & anxious to learn more about Him from the Bible…” (Abdiyah Akbar Abdul-Haqq). We have, over the years, sent out tons of (free) materials to many nations of the world, we have personally been to many countries where militant Islam/Communism especially rules. Let’s not forget the racial Jews in our missionary programs. They too need Christ Jesus (note: see my articles on Judaism/Jews].
Look on the Fields
They are ripe for harvest. Go to work! Even during this period of death & destruction souls can be harvested. Even during this season of God’s wrath, fury & indignation, mercy can be had.
We here at ACMTC, after years of persecution, prosecution, & prison, we are indebted to our God & the Lord Jesus, with the Holy Spirit’s inspiration, for their mercies. The devil & his demons have tried everything to destroy us over the course of our Christian walk (saved Dec. 16, 1971). I am now 80 years old. I was 26 when I got “born-again”; Deborah was 24. We still have a desire to see souls saved, filled with the Spirit, (empowered/inspired) & become warriors for Christ. Amen.
